VIN CHECK THREAD

70 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Shamefully copied from legendary VINbro's threads Old thread will autosage soon Old thread here - >>15229343 >I am able to run US/Canadian VINs (anything with a fitting VIN; bikes, cars and so on) and US plates. For plates the same rules apply as VINs; 1981 or newer, US registered, and the plate and state are needed. Plates do work most of the time, but VINs are more reliable. >Please remove hyphens (dashes) from VINs/plates - unless they happen to be part of a vanity plate. This makes copying and pasting easier. >I can only run vehicles in/originally in the USA/Canada. If they've been exported from the USA/Canada, a report with their time here will be available. Not yet sure about imported cars. >Vehicles need to be of the 1981 model year or newer. That's when standardized VINs began. Anything older simply cannot be run for a report. >There are never I(i), O(o), nor Q(q) in VINs. This is to avoid confusion with 1 and 0. So if you are unsure, it is always 1 or 0 (not the case for classic cars, but they cannot be run anyway). >VINs must be 17 characters exactly. No more, no less. >If you want the PDF-file you can open the page source (F12) and search "amazonaws", copy the whole link and put it in your browser. This should allow you to download the PDF. If its not working send me an email at mightybenz@hotmail.com. Please leave a reply if you do so

>2002 sentra 1.8 >single owner according to carfax, i bought it with about 148k miles >159,711 miles >stick shift >driven 16,800 miles per year, 80% on highway >synthetic oil, changed every 7500 like clockwork >mechanic said he could detect no obvious problems other than a slow oil leak as he relearned the idle realistically, how many miles can i expect this car to last if i drive it like a grandma? how much can i expect to pay a year in repairs, maintenance? thanks /o/

Lightweight wheels

Just put some O.Z. Alleggerita HLT's (18x8) on my MazdaSpeed3 today, which saved me 7 pounds per corner. The moment I started driving, it felt so much better than before. Handling, braking, acceleration, everything improved quite a bit. It's an amazing feeling. I highly recommend to everyone that they find the lightest wheels they can and enjoy this sensation. That is all.

I have one of these, and it's at 5% oil life. Time to change that shit. And it needs to get done really soon, for obvious reasons. I'm a scrub, though. Have not changed the oil on a car before. My mom wants to have a pro do it, and she is the owner of the car, so I want to respect that, but the place she told me to take it to has it done by appointment only and for a price that seems maybe a bit high. ($32ish). And there are no appointments open until Monday. I don't want to push this. I did only hit 5% a day or two ago, but still, this isn't one to procrastinate on. Do you guys have any recommendations for chains that are good for oil changes and can get it done reasonably quickly without me having to go through any bullshit like setting an appointment several days in advance? I should ideally be able to just take it in whenever and get the oil changed in two hours tops. Or at worst call ahead and be able to schedule it within 24 hours and not at some bullshit early time or anything. However, if you guys don't think I'll find anything at all reasonable, I'm open to just doing it myself at this point, too. But if that's what I gotta do, I'd like to know exactly how I should go about it. I know some of you are going to be like, "Psh, look into this shit yourself," but this is truly urgent. This should really be taken care of today or tomorrow I feel.
