Hey guys. I'm real new to this site, would love to hear some advice or opinions on my problem.
I own a 3L VQ30de '94 Nissan Cefiro (Maxima out side of New Zealand) and it's not running too well at the moment.
She guzzles gas like there's no tomorrow but always feels weak, I've got an HKS exhaust on it that you can just hear for miles away but the engine is choppy asf (sounds like a fucking helicopter sometimes)
She's very weak in the low RPM, 1-2k and stop start for lights or even just slowing down while on the road results in a massive power loss, when she's on the motorway she runs pretty well but it still sounds a little funny and has a slight pull every now and again
keeping her steady on 50-60kmph (average driving speed here) she seems to be running and alternating between 2 different gears (auto) and constantly changes between them, I get either a strong pull or just weakness.
what do you guys think? I've replaced spark plugs and it worked for a few days but then she kinda went back to normal, I just don't know enough about cars to be able to diagnose it properly..
A few things I'm considering - Swapping the battery, New Fuelpump/filter, engine oil replacement (although there's nothing wrong with the oil, just to put a clean set in) I've cleaned the MAF and throttlebody.. kind of out of ideas..
I'm not interested in the trolling and telling me to sell my car, I know she's old but she's my baby.. any genuine answers appreciated!
