Let's chat about manumatic setups. Favorite, least favorite? We can also talk about auto trans in here, if you're interested.
I'm going to give my vote for favorite factory (because you can do this in any car, aftermarket) setup to the NEWER Dodge autostick setups (Challenger, Charger, etc). Quick, precise, and no issues with those unlike the older ones.
Least favorite would go to the NEW Ford SelectShift. It's just two buttons on the side of the shifter (+ / - ) [In that configuration] and flappy paddles. I really despise flappy paddles.

Got to run an emergency load of road salt out to Kansas City, KS last night before the storm hit. It was a tarped load with an ASAP deadline, so I was a bit wary, but I just couldn't say no to that sweet, sweet $4.50/mi linehaul.
My tanks had enough fuel, I used most of the 100 new 31" tarp straps I bought, and I was 2000lbs over weight, so I hit the road and hammered down. Made it to the first of two stops before the sleet came, and it didn't stop snowing until this morning. I was completely soaked by the time I got off the last 10 pallets, but it was only a short 2 mile crawl to the nearest hole in the wall QT truck stop. Didn't even bother rolling up my tarps. Just wadded them together, folded them into thirds then quarters, and strapped them to the trailer, since they were soaked on both sides anyway.
There are still a few random road closures around me, so I'm going to sit here for a day with a fat wallet over some coffee and doughnuts. Won't you join me?

So I've decided to get a bike, they get better gas mileage than most cars, filling up a tank won't rape my wallet, i just enjoy riding them much more than driving a car.
Now, I've been looking around and found this beast, an Ural. I really love old school shit, i mean i smoke lucky strikes with a zippo.
upon further research i learn that they are fantastic bikes, as long as you know how to maintain them, because they do require a wrench every 1500-2000k's or so.
this is really disappointing because i know nothing about mechanics, let alone motorcycle mechanics. How do i go about learning everything i can about motorcycle mechanics, or is there a more reliable but comparable bike out there that won't need to be in the shop every month?

Hey /o/, I am thinking of getting a Prelude 1998 for 7k Australia NSW, with 111k mileage..
Can you tell me if its any good, I really like it and its close to my budget, I was wondering how good it is with fuel and stuff, easy to repair? that sort of think
would really appreciate the input.

Am I an asshole /o/?
>driving home 30 minutes ago in mah 300zx
>come up on new civic doing 45 in a 50 zone
>ok whatever, theres a passing spot coming up in half a mile
>guy slows down to 40 (still in 50 zone)
>3 more cars behind me by now
>could have passed at anytime, but didnt want to be an asshole so I waited all the way until the designated passing zone
>guy still doing 10 under speed limit
>I get impatient and flash my high beams once
>get to passing zone and pass him
>guy tries to speed up and then starts flashing his high beams at me once im in front
>get annoyed by this and brake check him briefly (hes 5 seconds behind me)
>guy starts flashing high beams again
>thats it motherfucker!
>slam on breaks and screech to a stop
>guy stops behind me, and then tries to go around me on the shoulder
>throw the Z in first and nail it, instantly light up tires
>grab second, still burning rubber and pouring white smoke
>leave him blinded in a giant white cloud and I drive away
Did he deserve it or did I take it too far?

Alright /o/, honestly, what is so good about this car?
I had a chance to drive one this week and was not impressed. It just feels like a floppy noodle around corners, tons of body roll and chassis flex, and it's one of the most impractical cars I could image to actually own.
What is the fascination with Miatas? They aren't even that cheap compared to something like a Civic, which are absolutely everywhere and match it in performance.
