O.K. I fucked up bad. So today, I drove from Omaha, NE, back home to northern IL. I added injector/fuel system cleaner, washer fluid, tire pressure, you know the works. However, I completely forgot to check my Oil level. Needless to say I ran out of oil and ended up throwing a rod.
I drive a 2012 Ford Focus and I am the only owner. The drive was around 5 hours ( I drive fast). Luckily, I broke down in the county where my brother lives and works (he's a mechanic), so towing shouldn't be too bad and I have a shop.
Now I am wondering, how much will this all cost? I just got out of the army with a pension (well technically still in until next month) and I am now living with my parents until I can apply for college/ set up my GI bill/ grants. I know I may have to buy a new engine, but I need to know a rough estimate of the costs so I can throw this into my budgeting.
Oh, by the way, no sensor light or check engine light went off until after the engine shut itself off on me, so could there have been a sensor malfunction as well, if so, I may be able to claim this on my warranty and have ford take care of the costs, but I still need to know the costs just in case.
Pic not related, but fuck, I wish it was so.
