Stupidest shit you've done while working on stuff.
I've got a bad history of fucking up my hands.
>Have a 98 Astro that's overheating a lot because of a radiator leak.
>Carry water with me at all times.
>Eventually get skilled enough to take radiator cap off and pull my hand back quick enough while it's still hot.
>Van overheats while driving it one day.
>Pull into gas station parking lot.
>Take cap off. Instead of fountaining out, water sprays up and shoots the cap god knows where.
>Hand doesn't feel too bad at first.
>Pouring water into radiator, hand suddenly feels like I just dunked it into a pot of boiling water,
>End up driving myself to ER.
>Three 2nd degree burns and five 1st degree burns.
>Changing the brake pads on my Mom's Jetta today.
>Everything goes smoothly, do a test drive.
>Hit the brakes hard several times.
>Go to make sure the rotor doesn't have any grooves in it.
>Forget that I just slammed on the brakes about ten times.
>Finger is still on fire.
What stupid things have you done, /o/?
Ford Ranger Deal

I'll try to keep this as short as possible. I'm currently out of a car with little money. I work 20 minutes away from my house and my ride is a shitty acquaintance that "forgets" to pick me up and take me home often. He lives across the street from me by the way.
Anyways, my best friend bought a 1990 Ford Ranger Xlt for $300 from a guy down the road and he's put about $1,000 back into it to get it running and stay alive. It has about 450,000 miles on it give or take. He said he'll put it in my name and I can drive it back and fourth to work (it'll be my car). He also said he'll let me pay for it over time, not caring how long it takes. He wants $1,000 for it.
It does have some issues such as it stalling now and then when you turn the wheel to hard when it's still or driving slowly. The fuel pressure drops and bam, it's off. The back left tire wiggles a bit and apparently it's not going to be fixed. It has a chemically smell pouring out of the exhaust when it's on.

Quick question about CDL license renewal, first time renewing it.
Do I just bring the 6 points for ID and the $44, or do I also have to bring a non expired medical certificate as well? Unfortunate for me, my medical expired back in August, and I was oblivious to it until recently. I'm just wondering if they'll ask for it, or can I just renew it later after getting my CDL renewed?

>What is the purpose of /ovg/?
This is intended as a secondary thread for discussing various automobiles in video games. We don't really organize events or anything, but you can if you want
>No really, what is the purpose?
To provide a safe haven for racing/auto vidya fans of all communities where they can discuss automotive vidya without any rules or regulations. Stick around, you might find out some crazy shit
>What happened to /rvg/?
People have assumed that /rvg/ was only about racing vidya and made non-racing vidya threads. This is to remedy this.
>Wat racan game is gud?
Richard Burns Rally, Forza Horizon, Forza 4, Gran Turismo 5, rFactor 1 & 2, SimRaceway, Race 07 (plus expansions), Race Pro, GTR2, GT Legends, Live For Speed, NASCAR Racing 2003 Season, Trackmania, and Lego Racers are all universally acclaimed. When in doubt, ask.
>Is iRacing worth it?
No. The only thing it does better than other sims is stat tracking. The physics are trash and most real drivers have abandoned it altogether because the dev team refuses to work with them anymore. In other words, the devs fucked it up beyond repair and can't figure out how to unfuck it.
>Anything else I should know?
