Put on your leather jackets and lower your asperger's med dosage, folks! It is time for an 80's driving music thread. I am not talking the Smiths. I am talking the cheesy-but-brilliant retro kind of sound that is emulated now, in its original form. Like the beginning of this thing, here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XGzKNNle1g

Advice for luxury/4-door supercar

16 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: panaw222.jpg]
Dear /o/, Anon here. My current low-profile DD is a Range Rover Autobiography and I'm looking to add a 4-door luxury car that offers supercar performance to my stable. It has to be daily drivable if needed, 4-door, fast and low-profile, i.e. I can still get the weekly groceries and so on without getting everyone's attention. This will be used for nights out with friends, road trips, and driving between the various events we attend. I plan on putting between 7 and 10k miles a year on the car. I don't want or need another 2-door, 2-seater/2+2 that rides hard - If we're going to drive for 2-3 hours, everyone has to be comfortable and I still want the performance as well as some exclusivity/cachet to keep this relevant, otherwise I would just buy a 535 or 740... I've narrowed my choices down to these two (for now): Panamera Turbo (regular, not executive) with 18-way seats, Burmester, premium package+, front and rear seat ventilation, parking sensors with camera, LED PDLS+, Insulated glass, 18-way seats, insulated glass, SportChrono, PDCC w/PTV+, PCB, sport exhaust, rear/side power sunscreen, no extra leather/alcantara/alu option other than illuminated door sills, rear seat entertainment system. Oh and the Sportdesign steering for proper paddles, unlike those lame toggle-thing. Mercedes-Benz W222 S63 AMG with premium rear seats, premium package, dynamic rear seats + rear entertainment, Magic Body, Burmester. I test drove a Turbo that didn't have PCCB, PVT or the right steering wheel, as well as a half-optioned S550 as I couldn't find a single S63 around. I liked both a lot but a test drive vs living with the car for some time is not the same at all. S65 is out of the question because it's not coming out soon enough. See post #2 --

Hey guys, I come to you in dire need of help. A couple of weeks ago I ran over some traffic cones and one somehow got stuck under my car ( 2002 pt cruiser) and disconnected the antifreeze coolant hose, which I found out after the car overheated. I fixed it and it was fine for a while, until the car began overheating AT STOPS. It remains at a medium and safe temperature while accelerating, but it quickly overheats when stopped and running. I have narrowed it down down to either the pump or (hopefully not) the motor. Do you guys have any advice in the matter? >TL;DR Car overheats when stopped, but goes back to a medium temperature when accelerating.

Hey guys. I'd like your opinions on something... I have an opportunity to get a 2004 Tiburon GT v6. With 70K miles on it. 70,004 to be exact... I'm not looking for a car to go racing around in, so I'm not very concerned with it's speed. It seemed to handle traffic pretty well. It's VERY clean and very smooth. Manual tranny. All stock. What's the word in yall's eyes about the Tiburon?

so /o/ I've had this car for years but recently felt like maybe it needed a few more ponies, I was shooting for maybe 10 more hp to help it keep up on the freeway. Its a 1.8 8v 100 hp I4 with Digi II. Heres a list of parts I was thinking of getting it. http://techtonicstuning.com/main/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_12_54_403_89&products_id=1980 http://techtonicstuning.com/main/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_12_255&products_id=489 http://techtonicstuning.com/main/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_12_54_731_732&products_id=1306 http://techtonicstuning.com/main/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_12_50_44_134&products_id=156 Anyone have any experience with these motors, think its doable?

Hey /o/: I recently had to stop my car because it overheated. Apparently, there was a leak in the coolant (from what I believe was the water pump) and I ended up parking my car while it was reaching the highest point on the temp gauge. I'm shit with cars, and I only use it to get around. I ordered a water pump and I'm going to try to put it in before work tomorrow, but I'm more worried the problem could be with the belt running the pump, or the thermostat, or all three. What I know: 2005 Buick Lacrosse 3.6 >The heat would not work before the car overheated, but worked after adding a gallons of water to the radiator and the coolant tank (emptied by the leak and partial negligence) >The hose with the radiator cap on it was not pressurized, it was very flexible >other people online have the same problem same make model and year, fixed by replacing the water pump I'm aware I have to probably flush the system of water and put radiator fluid and coolant in their respective places, and get rid of air left in the system (I was told to run the car for about 15 minutes with the radiator cap off until I hear a gurgle). As I mentioned before I'm horrible with cars and I'm still learning maintenance and basic repair. I plan to get a lot better with them in the future, but for now I'm just some shithead who would like to drive his car to work tomorrow. If there's anything I need to do or I missed, please let me know. Anyway, thank you guys in advance. Pic unrelated.

Anyone have experience selling junk cars to national cash for car companies? I've heard good things about peddle.com so I got a quote and was offered $340 for my 2002 corolla with a cracked block. Then I called copartdirect and explained what I was offered and that I was asking $520. They authorized $500 and free pickup. Anyone else I should call?

Can't decide between SPL suspension arms or PBM (Powered By Max) arms. Buncha threads out there for research claim SPL is the superior but I'm wondering if the extra cash is worth it. I'm local so SoCal so there's a PBM shop in S.D., but SPL is American in Texas so that's another plus. This is for a daily driven / autox 240sx. Thanks for your input
