I just learned how VTEC works. Correct me if I'm wrong, but VTEC allows for better fuel economy in normal driving but also allows the driver to kick up the engine power simply by revving higher. However, I think I'm missing something here:
What is the point of this system in racing applications?
Don't get me wrong - I completely understand the advantages of a DOHC VVT system. What I don't understand is why Honda would, say, produce a high-performance Civic Type R, and give it the VTEC system when they could simply use a regular camshaft with that larger lobe.

Hello /o/, I have had a really unfortunate past with cars, mostly due to rust. I currently have a 1992 Pontiac Formula Firebird, however the frame has rusted to the point that it hangs by the back left wheel, should i be concerned?, also, i soon hope to switch out cars, I like muscle cars and sports cars similar to Dodge stealths, any suggestions?

Come to find out, his name isn't even on the title of the car, his mom's is. And I got to listen to him get bitched out on the phone by his mom for trying to 'secretly' sell the car. How was your day /o/?
