unsure. You'd have to import a floorpan and AWD parts from a Japanese Market Suzuki Swift GTI. The engine? The DOHC 1.3L Was offered in the US market Suzuki Swift GTI and Swuzuki Swift GT until 1994. The Swift GTI pistons and DOHC head bolt right on the 1.3L Metro's. It's a fairly common swap, but tracking down parts can be hard as the Suzuki Swift sibling was nowwhere near as popular as the Geo here in the states.

Did some probing around with the test light and I'm getting iffy power through the starter relay, doesn't improve when I replace it with a "good" borrowed relay, so I'm not sure what's up. I haven't had a chance to check it with a volt meter yet. After that it needs a couple of small bits and badly needs an alignment before it'll be on the road.

The Geo Metro got the 3 cylinder in the base model and the SOHC 1.3L i4 was an option. The Suzuki had the SOHC 1.3L standard and the DOHC 1.3L was a different performance trim level. Minor exterior differences too. Only other difference I know of is the Metro was offered as a convertible and the Suzuki wasn't... because Geo.

I think you might complain after having to drive one from SoCal to Oregon and back even with the five speed. The car can be okay in small doses but you get to really see how painfully slow it is with 3 people and a shitload of luggage. Semi trucks were wrecking my asshole up slight grades even in maximum attack mode. The only awesome time I had in the metro was going south on the glorious 101 with those delicious twisties in the forests.
