Hey, /p/. Been a while. I went to Bryce Canyon for two weeks with my family and got a chance to take some photos of the beautiful landscape. I can't really do it justice but I did what I could. Convince me not to buy a C100? I have become a bit successful shooting weddings and have enough for a C100.. Things I really hate about using DSLR's is having to use and keep taking on and off my ND filter.. Might not seem like a huge problem but it's actually a bit annoying. RODE shotgun mics, decent quality but sorry flimsy as fuck, again a little bit annoying to keep putting on and taking off. C100 has XLRs, need I say more? Plus a few other things, peaking, zebras etc. I also like the new sensor that's like the 70D, some videofags don't use autofocus but for documentary run n gun stuff (which is how I have been filming weddings) just being able to quickly focus on something is really nice, where as a 5D3 is slow as fuck which sometimes means missing a good moment. Downsides? The viewfinder is apparently shit but I heard with a custom eyecup is improved greatly. Eyecup is only about $50. AVCHD, codec is pretty shit but I think it would be ok for a few more years. I feel like for the price these few little thinhs would make my life a lot easier and more hassle free, making it easier to concentrate on just shooting. I'd like some friendly opinions though, anything I am not thinking about? [EXIF data available. Large Format General. Someone recently said we should have a new Large Format General, and I agree. I have a few questions regarding lenses, but before I make this into a complete gearfag thread, let's have some nice film resources. If you are located in Europe (like me), and you're interested in the new Adox CHS 100 II (like me), check out http://www.fotoimpex.de/shopen/films/sheet-films/ The next site is the cheapest place I have been able to find Ilford Delta, where they will declare it as a $20 value, so there will be no import charges. http://www.badgergraphic.com/store/cart.php?m=product_list&c=235 I bought my Kodak Porta 160 from http://filmphotographyproject.com/store They're not the cheapest, but cheap overseas shipping and no import charges are nice. Next up is the only place I have been able to find the glorious Velvia 50 in sheet film, and Fuji Neopan in 8x10. http://www.japanexposures.com/shop/film-analog/film/sheet-film/?currency=USD For general film in the domestic USA, I'd say go for Adorama or BH. Pic is Ilford Delta 100, rated at ISO 100. Hence the bad shadow detail. [EXIF data available. My university is holding a Science and Engineering photography competition. What should I shoot? I happen to have access to a very large structural engineering laboratory where we have some pretty impressive looking equipment designed to break big shit. Apart from that I can't think of many ideas.

Hey /p/. I've decided I need this book in my life, but not sure which edition I should buy. There's a 14" one that costs $150 http://www.amazon.com/dp/0500543992/ And a 8.5" on pre-order one that costs $75 http://www.amazon.com/dp/050054431X/ The 14" one has less pages (504 vs 524) and some bullshit about "Int'l Center of Photography, New York: Exhibition Catalogue" Are they the same book except for size? Also, fotobook general?

To start with, this thread is NOT about the talent of the photographer whose picture I'm posting. She's just a randomly picked example. Why the hell do people like these sleeping baby pictures? These poses invariably look awkward as hell, the baby looks like a shriveled prune and it's just something that I don't remotely get... If you can post a "good" one and show me that it can be done well, please do so, but this, imo, is a more worthless style than the most nuclear of HDRs ever dreamed of being. [EXIF data available.
