Hi /p/, I'm thinking about buying the Canon EF 20/2.8 for my 5d MkII. I'm going to use it mainly for video work but I like photography as well. Any opinions on this lens? Recommendation for alternatives? Thanks

Best Ultrawides: Tamrawn vs. Smegma

I need an ultrawide zoom and am going to decide between the Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-5.6 and Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6. Dpreview seems to give the nod to the Tamron. Sigma: http://www.dpreview.com/lensreviews/sigma_10-20_4-5p6_n15/3 Tamron: http://www.dpreview.com/lensreviews/tamron_10-24_3p5-5p6_n15/3 While photozone says that the sigma tears the tamron a new asshole, particularly in MTF resolution and chromab. Tamron: http://www.photozone.de/nikon--nikkor-aps-c-lens-tests/466-tamron_1024_3545_nikon?start=1 Sigma: http://www.photozone.de/nikon--nikkor-aps-c-lens-tests/308-sigma-af-10-20mm-f4-56-dc-ex-hsm-lab-test -report--review?start=1 Who's right? (And other than that, I can see that the sigma has better build quality, while the tamron has extra 1/3 stop but more importantly, more zoom range.) [EXIF data available. I was invited to a small (12 models) fashion show. I wasn't given instructions, I can take whatever I want and go backstage but I've never done this before. I thought of bringing with me a on-camera flash (manual). The OP pic seems to be a backstage photo but I see in the eye a softbox and a reflector. I have softboxes but I think is too bulkier to bring along. Any suggestions?

Fed 3 or Argus C3

/P/, I need advice. Do I get a Fed 3 or an Argus C3? I have experience using a Mamiya Tower 10 long ago, but not in the last 10 years. Which would you recomend for a range finder novice? Corsica

Hey, I've been editing the photos I took this May biking on Corsica. My first big shoot since getting more seriously interested in photography. Using star ratings I've narrowed them down from about 1000 to 60 at four stars. I know what you're gonna say "you took 1000 shots and they are still this shit?". Yeah, I took a lot more that were deleted in camera during the trip also. Thing is, I'm not sure which of these to bump up another level, and was wondering if you'd help me narrow them down further? Which of these bore you less? Most of these are not cropped, but I did straighten them and apply some exposure correction. In like 4 I've (poorly) cloned out some distractions in the sky. Also I used a Hoya CPL most of the time. [EXIF data available. Dslr Upside down carry

11 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: 040512maske2.jpg]
Can carrying a DSLR upside down (for example in a camera bag) cause damage or unwanted side effects to the function of mechanisms inside the camera body? Is the mirror lockup fit for prolonged upside down use? as long as the camera is turned off and the shutter isnt actuated. my reason for asking is that i have a custom made bag that only allows my d700 to sit in it up side down when i have a larger lens lying in the bottom compartment of the bag. now i really like this bag and didnt want to switch it so i simply started putting my d700 in upside down. i plan on walking/running/biking with the bag over my shoulder as i would do normally. how does the negative g-force effect the internals? do i have to worry about force peaks over a certain limit? the is no official information about safety concerns regarding this practice and the few opinions i found on the net are contradicting and/or of limited relevance. thx fpr your time - ill be bumping with some of my photos from time to time
