Canon 600D rear/front focus?

Today while shooting I noticed that a large portion of the shots I took were out of focus, instead the camera focused a couple of centimeters short of the subject - rear focusing.
The setup I used was a Canon 600D + EF f/1.8 II. After I returned home I read a couple of articles about focus troubleshooting, and then I flashed fresh firmware, printed a chart and took 6 photos - top row is AF using live view, bottom row is AF through viewfinder. Turns out the only consistent thing about the phase detection AF is the fact that it doesn't focus properly.
I'm still not sure whether it's the lens or the camera, although before this test I took several shots with the EF-S 18-135 and the results came out roughly the same (will do some more extensive testing with both lenses tomorrow morning).
Is there something I can do at home to fix the issue or does the camera/lens need to be taken to the service center?
Also, anyone else facing similar issues with this camera/lens?
