I need some genuine advice /p/ I'm getting more into photography and I'd like to upgrade from my Canon EOS M to something better. Problem is I don't have the experience or knowledge to make a well informed decision. Thats why I'm asking you. I'm torn between getting a Nikon D5200/D5300 or a Sony a6000. I understand one is a DLSR and one is a CSC. So I have a few questions. 1) Which has a better image quality? 2) Which is easier to use? 3) Does carrying a DLSR around really become a pain in the ass? 4) As a beginner(ish) should I really be considering these cameras, or are they too advanced? Thankyou

Mirrorless Reccomendation

For reasons of portability i want to get into mirrorless cameras. I want to choose between the X-T10 and the A6000. Hopefulyl anyone has experience with one or even both: What is the better (also looking the future here) lens mount to look for? How do they compare in terms of imagine quality with just the kit lenses? How portable are they? Is the Autofocus of the Fuji fast? (coz i know the a6000 has the edge here) Thank you for contributing something into my desicion. [EXIF data available. So.... Im still a total scrub when it comes to photography but yet I want to have a decent equipment to start with. Im currently using a Canon EOS400D and I wanna invest into a DSLR. Thought about the 70D because of the autofocus, but feel free to give me advice! The main use of this camera would it be to take timelapses (day/night). Also would start to make some little movies about adventures days. I want to spend 2.500$ max. If you can help me out please come in [EXIF data available. Say I have an awesome photo of a current event. I haven't, but let's just say I have. How do you go about getting paid by the newspapers for access to it? Do you take it to an agency? If so, which one? Is there a way of getting the best price? I'm actually kind of surprised that none of the major news outlets make this sort of thing particularly simple - or obvious.

"The first trap is equipment. Photography is the only art form that I know of in which the practitioners worship their equipment. I know many artists, yet have never known a painter to brag about his brushes or serious writers to spend hours comparing typewriters or word processors or sculptors spending hours discussing their chisels. Yet most of my time spent with photographers is spent listening, ad nauseam, about this or that make of camera or lens or tripod, film, paper, etc., etc., etc." [EXIF data available. Uncle Terry has not grown as a photographer. In years. Is his stagnation a result of being surrounded by sycophants?

Shooting stills: flat and desaturated. (and keeping them flat and desaturated as final product) Is this acceptable? are there people who prefer this? Is it because of the lo-fi nostalgic thing? >pic related, is not mine, from the flickr of one of you people on /p/
