I'm taking photography as an elective as an animation student and it made me think about photography as a hobby and profession - especially film.
Just because I'm curious, if you shoot film:
do you process it yourself? (if not, would you if you could?)
do you print it yourself?
if you do, is it with your own facilities, or say, your university's?
do you catalog your negatives?
do you digitally scan all/most of your negatives?
do you plan on pursuing a gallery/fine art career, or would you like to?
I just got to thinking about film, because it is slower and more expensive than digital, but absolutely has a market of professionals, hobbyists, and consumers (though usually in a gallery setting, not many photographers shoot weddings on film).
pic related it's a film photo I like

Does /p/ remember that creeper from Brisbane who used to post tight face portraits he took on the street with like, a 500mm mirror lens?
I saw that fucker today in Brisbane city. I know it was him, he was just sitting on a bench for about 2 hours taking photos of people's faces. He literally didn't move from that bench, sitting there with his fuckoff lens, looking like the 40 year old pervert that he is

OK let's get this shit straight:
if you had the money, and if your photography activity isn't completely incompatible with rangefinder cameras, WOULD YOU GO FOR THE MIGHTY LEICA M SYSTEM?
Personally, fucking yes. Their lenses are fucking awesome (dat unique rendering), dat build quality, and finally with the new M there will be a proper digital body.
Both Nikon and Canon and anyone else can give the 3D effect and plane separation that Leica glasses are renowed for. Zeiss is renowed for that too, but face it: their current SLR lenses suck incomparison to their ZM rangefinder lenses.
