If you have questions about a new camera, what lenses to buy and anything related to gear or wondering about getting into photography, post it in this thread. Do not attempt to make a new thread for your new Rabal, broken glass and being new. No pointless (brand) arguments and dickwaving allowed! You have been warned! I repeat, ANYTHING GEAR RELATED goes in here! And don't forget, be polite! Previous thread: >>2876408 ? [EXIF data available. Help me /p/, I just bullshit my way into a job as a professional photographer and I know absolutely jack shit about taking pictures beyond tossing a camera in auto mode. I start in two weeks and I need to know how to set up a collapsible 'studio' for doing portraits, and how to take decent wedding photos. I'm going to be a Nikon D4S and a bunch of random lenses that were in a case, I think there were about 15 of them, he said they were mostly prime but had a few zoom. FUCK This job pays really well and I didn't think I was going to get it How can I learn to be a pro in like a week?

Looking to buy my first camera for amature photography but more so for video making. I hear the Panasonic G7 is better than the a6000 for video, but besides the appeal of the a6000 being the compact size and design, am I an idiot for wanting the sony because of the brand? Panasonic just has a bad connotation in my head. It just sounds old and cheap to me. It's the brand of CRT your grandma had. Sony, their website, their branding, their cameras and lenses, it all just looks good. I feel like no matter what, I'll be slightly dissatisfied with the Panasonic just because of that. Is that a dumb reason to choose the a6000 over the G7? I do prefer the a6000 size more, but other than that, the G7 checks way more video boxes except the autofocus, but I don't know how substantially better the a6000's autofocus is in comparison.

Does anyone here ever do photography while on the water, specifically while kayaking? I've been kayaking several times before, but never with my camera. I'm looking to buy a dry bag (like the Earth Pak - 10L or 20L) to store my camera at all times when I'm not actively taking a photo with it so that if I dump overboard I don't lose my gear to the bottom of the ocean, but it sounds like a giant pain in the ass to pull it in and out of there. Does anybody have any tips on how to keep my gear in one piece or how to take good shots while on the water? [EXIF data available.
