Hey /p/ It's been a while since I've seen one of these threads. I know the old usuals still shoot so hopefully they see this and contribute. Plus I keep seeing anons asking how to get into the scene so hopefully we can steer them in the right direction here

What are some experiments you'd recommend a city dwelling beginner try? I live in a moderately big city but I feel like pictures of buildings would be boring. I also can't get to the roofs of most, since trespassing is taken rather seriously here. I figured I'd want to take pictures like this, but my city isn't this fucking cool.

what 35mm film do you recommend for a grunge tone? obviously some of this can be achieved in post if you get the film digitized, but each brand of film has a different end result texture to it. refer to the attached photo to see the style I'm describing/aiming for. cheers fellas [EXIF data available. when i posted a thread about my ongoing project to document the few remaining hourly rate motels in the bronx a week or two ago, youre response was overwhelmingly positive. "good work dude" you all said, but not in a sarcastic or mean way. and because of those rave reviews of my first thread im posting this followup! COOL! B-) i'm still considering names for the project. one that i've been playing with recently is "PARADISE BY THE HOUR: The Last of the Bronx's 'No-Tell Motels'" 1/6 [EXIF data available. How do I learn color? I see people talking about things like sRGB and Adobe RGB coverage and display calibration and whatnot but when I look at images I can't tell what's wrong with the color unless it's way off. Like I saw someone complain that an image had unnatural skin tones but I didn't see it. I can look at an image on different screens and even though I see that it looks slightly different I can't tell which version is the "good" one. When I edit my photos I just play around with the sliders until I like it. But I don't know if what looks good to me looks good to someone else. [EXIF data available. Why is that most people who pick-up photography as a hobby do worst pictures than people who just mess around on Instagram? Seriously, this is something I will never understand. I used to browse a local forum dedicated for photography and there were maybe one guy who had some creativity and eye for photography. The rest literally raped by eyes with the complete lack of style compared with shit-postprocessing and very-cliche situations. Why do some many people on these forums think that you can compensate the lack of aesthetics with technical knowledge? Pic of the opposite is related. Guy shot this when he was like 14. Nothing special going on when it comes to composition or post-processing, but its still a really good picture to look at because it has a great style. Why is it hard to graps for people?

So I've been reading about the "elephants foot" in Chernobyl, and apparently there's only a few pictures of it because nuclear radiation interferes with cameras. Does your digital camera matter if you primarily shoot analogue MF? I see people here slamming M43 and mirrorless but are they good enough? could a phone even do the trick if you don't seriously shoot digital? the IQ of some consumer shit cameras is rivalling much higher end bodies and are as good as SLRs for scanning film. they may even be superior for compact travel / snapshit cameras. Good day /p/ I´m in the search of someone who could make a short animated video sequence (6 to 8 seconds) of my Logo showing up and falling to parts. If needed i´d have an example in which way i´m thinking. I´m a photographer (doing this for hobby not money) and want to create some kind of trailers for my photo shoots, each of them starting with my Logo. Idk how much work it would be for you, but i´d be willing to support you via paypal with 10 to 15 bucks or so
