One of the excitements of photography is the balance of meaning and form. On the one hand you have the formal point of view which is nothing but the sum and all its details within a configuration of colors, lines and volumes which compose the image. On the other hand, you have meaning, brought forth by what these images represent. A photograph of a human may appeal to mere formal perception, or it can enter into the realm of subject matter and meaning. My preference is to maintain an equilibrium of both.
