Hi fuckheads. So last night I went to a drum circle at the beach to take pics. 600+ people (in miami) I failed miserably. With an external flash and without an external flash. Between the light from the fire spinners, the fucking moon, the fucking flash from the other cameras, I could not find the right settings to take some nice shots. Any advice on how to handle your camera in this setting? Thank you assholes. bye. pic related (an example of my fail)

Italy snapshits

Went on vacation. Took some snapshits, polished some turds. I'd be interested in other people's thoughts on the post on a few of these - I have a feel I have the habit of going a bit overboard at times with the contrast or color adjustments, so if there's anything particularly nauseating or vomit-inducing, let me know (would also appreciate if you also point out the opposite).

Advice on products for newbie

Hello fellow anons, I would like to get some advice on which camera to buy for general purposes. Main Use: -To capture everyday things from rooms/restaurants/furniture-details/architecture (I am an interior designer) Secondary Use: - Personal-Use/Tours Extra: - Preferably would love a camera decent enough to capture pictures during nighttime Budget: $150-$300 Don't need something professional. Just something workable to create a decent looking compilation/portfolio or even just to keep a library of ideas. Notes: - I live in Vancouver, so I hope the products recommended is within reach from amazon or nearby stores (lol) but still I am open to unreachable products. Thanks in advance! I didn't know if this should be in /p or /adv but there you go!

Meme anyone?

I'm looking for a technique for developing film. I heard that a smaller dilution with a longer time would give less grain. I heard that this was called Static Processing but haven't been Abe to find anything online under that name. Any idea what its called? Links to charts, anything else I can do for maximum contrast, minimum grain? Thanks :)

One of the excitements of photography is the balance of meaning and form. On the one hand you have the formal point of view which is nothing but the sum and all its details within a configuration of colors, lines and volumes which compose the image. On the other hand, you have meaning, brought forth by what these images represent. A photograph of a human may appeal to mere formal perception, or it can enter into the realm of subject matter and meaning. My preference is to maintain an equilibrium of both.

Pentax K1000 light meter

8 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
So I bought a Pentax K1000 off of ebay for $55 with the 50mm lens included. The camera is in awesome condition, looks beautiful, everything works except for the light meter. It's always stuck in the middle. I installed a new battery in it, still wasn't working. I even tried wiping the battery contact thing with my shirt but it didn't do anything. Has anyone had any experience with getting the light meter to work? I tried the test thing where you put the camera in Bulb mode ASA 100 and the meter was still in the middle. Seller refunded my money and surprisingly just said I could keep the camera as well.

get a load of these b/w shots of a city + two different parties I shot a kodak tri-x 400 roll @ 1000iso, then I had it sent it to the lab for developing saying I wanted these pushed and there's obviously been some misunderstanding somewhere some I left dark, some I brightened in post all have been scanned with a canon canoscan F9000, resized, most have been sharpened a bit, and everything was compressed enjoy
