Opinions on Peter Hurley and his work? Is there anything behind his work? Why are plain headshots in front of a blank background so succesfull?

Hallo /p/ I need a film scanner - mainly for 120 negs but also the occasional 135 roll of HP5. My Lab seems to scan at 1200dpi but I don't really want to throw any more of the few Euros I have down their throat. Especially not for 120 scans. So an Investment in my own scanner would pay off in the long run. I gathered some infos about Flatbeds in my price Range (V600 & 9000f) but curious about other options or decent older ones (linotype or something, but seems to be all 1200dpi and such). Any recommendations? Or sample scans? Will I get utter shit from a scanner that cheap anyway? Will I have to spend a fortune on software to get useable results? Will Portra look anything like it should? I'm afraid, Dave...

So, can you see the splitfocus when you use the EVF function, or is it only available on the LCD on this thing? Because what's so great about manual focusing if you have to use the fucking LCD to do it?

What's a good size for posting fine-art-esque photos on a wordpress website? I'm thinking about exporting them at 800x800 (let lightroom figure out the short side at 72 DPI) Is that too large? What size do you use?
