i have tried to find the best method for skin smoothing, and looking for one that is not too time consuming.
found this one:
>duplicate layer (all work will be done on this top layer)
>gaussian blur (do no apply. just see what pixel radius looks smooth)
>high pass (use the gaussian blur number) apply
>surface blur (radius value 1/3 of the high pass number)
>invert layer (command I)
>blend mode: linear light
>lower opacity to 15-40%
>mask all layer with black
>soft brush to paint in smooth skin (white)
>watch edges, hair, eyes, etc.
what do you think? I see it retains a lot of detail.
this is to be done after removing blemishes with clone/healing brush, but I have found that this can be done afterwards since this method removed many blemishes.
