What the fuck are they thinking? We've had more new digital Rebels in the past two years than we've had in all previous years.

Hey /p/, do any of you guys have waterproof cameras? I'm taking a trip to Aruba over the summer, and would like to have a camera for diving/something smaller than my D-Slr. I was considering picking up a 18-135 Wr lens for my k-30 instead and just using that, but something fully waterproof/pocket able like the Sony seems like it could be a lot more useful for say snorkeling than a GoPro.

Lightening photo

Hi guys, I've ran into a problem recently that I don't know how to solve. I took this picture this Sunday on an awesome ride around the local mountains. Trying not to burn into oblivion the awesome view of the city on the background, I turned the camera to manual settings and dialed in a quick exposure of 1/1000s, of course no flash, f/2.8 and ISO 100. Problem now is, I want to postprocess it to keep the background and "lighten up" the bike. Tried tweaking the histogram but the results are somewhat poor. What can be done /p/ros?

/p/ I come with the need of information. Im an ameture photographer and I've got 5 weddings coming up. Im doing them for free as I've not done weddings before, I mainly do basic studio/location stuff, I've done a few charity catwalks, and i've got a lot of contacts to work with. I have about £3-4k in cash, would like to try and be cost efficient... Was thinking of selling 7D for 5D MK3 and getting some glass. Id be paying roughly.. £1.9k 5d mk3 £700 24-70 f.28 £600 70-200 f4 IS £1000 16-35 f2.8 II I'm a bit out of budget, what would you recommend /p/ >inb4nikon

Hi, I am going travelling soon and my gf is starting a fashion blog of some sort... I'm not really sure what she's doing. Anyway, we are looking to get a nice camera but we want to save money if we can. My friend suggested Fujifilm Finepix X100 Compact Digital Camera, and it looks pretty good, but a bit pricy. I guess my question is: Do we need that camera? We'll only be using it for blogging and taking travel photos. Thanks for reading :) [EXIF data available. gotta write a history of photo paper tomorrow, thankfully it's pretty open ended. comparitive analysis of two photographs. What would be some fun photos to compare? As long as there is an established author it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks /p/

I have a d5100 and have been thinking about getting the rokinon 85mm 1.4, and the issue, of course, is super shit viewfinder. So, after some research I decided to try and get the katzeye focusing screen to help with the manual focus. Does anyone here have any experience with both of those products (after market focusing screens and rokinon 85mm)?

Technique used?

I have loved the medium of art that is photography for as long as I can remember but I think to fully experience this art form one must take photos. Therein lies the problem, I am a poorfag and everything that I read past the 80s leads me to believe that photography is the pursuit of the middle class on up. Am I right in my assumption and should just hope that one day I may not be poor, or am I wrong and even a poorfag like me can get in to photography. If this is the case, could you guys give me advice to get started on my low budget journey.

Looking at some Nikkor AIS lenses for shooting VIDEO on my GH3 and future cameras. Anyone know if there are any focal lengths that are considered more traditional or standard for filmmaking? The reason I ask is there are lenses like the 18mm f/3.5 and 20mm f/2.8 that are around the same price.. 2mm isn't a whole lot of difference no? It seems the 20mm being the faster lens is the obvious choice? But maybe the 18mm is actually the better focal length when attached to a camera with S35 sensor and you take crop factor into consideration? (I plan to buy a camera with S35 sensor soon) Or maybe it's irrelevant since the Speed Booster was announced? Or am I just being retarded? Thoughts?

I have some wide angle, telephoto, macro and mid-range lenses however they are starting to show thier age and could do with an upgrade. Hey /p/ got an EOS 400D because I'm going abroad and want to get the sights. Already have a 18-55mm lens what other lenses would you recommend for varied shots? Any other advice for a newbie?

Hey /p/, I stumbled upon an old PL filter in a bag, with an old canon EF-M and some "vintage" EF lenses. I thought it was a linear polarizer, and that AF wouldn't work, but AF works perfectly (Canon 7d) and metering seems okay too. Does this mean it's a circular polarizer? On the case and and on the polarizer itself there's no mention of it, just "Hoya PL". tl;dr how do I know for sure if a polarizer is linear or circular? [EXIF data available. Hey /p/. I would like to learn flash photography, I'm totally oblivious about it. I don't want to rush things and make trials and errors, mostly because I'm shooting on a Mamiya 7II, and each missed pictures costs me a lot.

I was out shooting the other day and my camera strap caught on a bench causing the camera to fall and the lens to break off the lens mount. If it was a shitty lens I wouldn't bother but it's a 35mm f/1.8 MC W.Rokkor-HH Where can I get this thing fixed without spending a ton of cash?
