Hello /p/ I ran into a chap yesterday who was using a very cheap Canon point and shoot to take long-exposure shots. I asked him how this was possible, as the firmware in cheap cameras usually won't let you do more than a couple seconds, and he claimed to be able to take a 64 minute exposure if he desired He said he had found a software hack that's good for most point and shoot Canons that opened up all the camera's functionalities. Does this exist for other cameras as well? I have a cheap Samsung PL200 I would love to be able to use for more than a simple point and shoot Until my question is answered, enjoy my attempts at photographing the night sky with another non-DSLR [EXIF data available. I'm generally not big on gear threads but I do have a few questions that I'm hoping I can get unbiased answers for here. First, FISHEYE AND WIDE-ANGLE ZOOMS. What is your favourite/what you think is best, why, and how much? (poorfag, workin on a budget here, boohoo me) Second and more importantly, we all know of the quality of legendary names like Zeiss and Schneider and so forth. What I want to know is if certain other general brands are any good - namely Samyang, Rokinon, Vivitar, Tokina, and Bower. Is the quality worth buying into? Mind you, I don't have the money for L glass or better, and I won't for some time.

Hey guys, I just realized I have put ISO 3200 film in a camera that only shoots up to 1600. After shooting half the roll, i fear i might be fucked. I did a little research and, according to this pdf manual I founbd online, the camera defaults to ISO 100 for anything above "16W" - but is that 1600? And if so, can i still develop it?

Systems and methods for client billing

Four Channel! I need some /p/ro help, semi-/p/ro, all input is good. I have a method right now for billing the scant photography clients I get that borrows heavily from my developer consulting method, but I have a feeling that it sucks and I know it won't scale (and I'm going to need it to scale). I'm already running into problems tracking my HST numbers. So I'd like to know, for those of you who do paid jobs (even if it's once in a blue moon), what's your method for tracking gigs, invoices and receipts? Do you bill clients by time on the ground, or do you bill as a job on the whole, etc. Vaguely related, how do you keep portfolios of specific shoots tied to specific bills? Eg you shoot the wedding of Bert and Ernie, how do you tie that to a series of pictures in Lightroom. Thanks all.

I took this photo a few weeks ago, in a state park in NY. It was about 1am and the light pollution was terrible. Was it a bad idea to tint it blue? Hi /p/. I'm going to be shooting my first paid music gig in a couple of days. i've had a look at the venue and also a look at photos of previous gigs hosted at the pub and i have an idea of what sort of photographs the place tends to allow. I wanted to know what things i should keep in mind while shooting. Also, what are acceptable delivery methods for the photos? A cd of selected jpegs, email or dropbox...and i'm guessing there're not looking for heavy post work right?
