Babby's first shoot

So, I just had my first shoot/first portraits. Not happy with the results at all - of course, not particularly surprising, but I just simply don't find them pleasing to look at. I've never shot portraiture before, used a body and lens I've never used before, somehow managed to fuck up the menus so it didn't shoot raw, and generally screwed up the whole shoot from a technical standpoint - dicking around with the controls made me somewhat unaware of composition as well. Anyways, enough whining, some general info: >body: 7d (1.3x or 1.6x crop) >lens: 24-70, f/4 >model: old photographer-friend of mine (her equipment as well) >time spent: 1-2 hours. Would like some general critique on composition, as I seem to have center-placed her at most of the shots, even though they all needed some crop in pp. Report on extremely crushed blacks and weird color-schemes, I'm not sure my screen is calibrated correctly. The Leica M EVF2 viewfinder is basically a rebranded Olympus VF-2. You cannot really tell from the press images, but the Leica and Olympus electronic viewfinders are identical and the Olympus VF-2 will work just fine on the new Leica M and X2 cameras. The only difference is that the Olympus VF costs $249, while the Leica VF costs $575. [EXIF data available. I'm generally not big on gear threads but I do have a few questions that I'm hoping I can get unbiased answers for here. First, FISHEYE AND WIDE-ANGLE ZOOMS. What is your favourite/what you think is best, why, and how much? (poorfag, workin on a budget here, boohoo me) Second and more importantly, we all know of the quality of legendary names like Zeiss and Schneider and so forth. What I want to know is if certain other general brands are any good - namely Samyang, Rokinon, Vivitar, Tokina, and Bower. Is the quality worth buying into? Mind you, I don't have the money for L glass or better, and I won't for some time.

Hey guys, I just realized I have put ISO 3200 film in a camera that only shoots up to 1600. After shooting half the roll, i fear i might be fucked. I did a little research and, according to this pdf manual I founbd online, the camera defaults to ISO 100 for anything above "16W" - but is that 1600? And if so, can i still develop it?

Systems and methods for client billing

Four Channel! I need some /p/ro help, semi-/p/ro, all input is good. I have a method right now for billing the scant photography clients I get that borrows heavily from my developer consulting method, but I have a feeling that it sucks and I know it won't scale (and I'm going to need it to scale). I'm already running into problems tracking my HST numbers. So I'd like to know, for those of you who do paid jobs (even if it's once in a blue moon), what's your method for tracking gigs, invoices and receipts? Do you bill clients by time on the ground, or do you bill as a job on the whole, etc. Vaguely related, how do you keep portfolios of specific shoots tied to specific bills? Eg you shoot the wedding of Bert and Ernie, how do you tie that to a series of pictures in Lightroom. Thanks all.
