why are m43 lenses so fucking expensive? babby dslr bodies may be a joke, but at least you can start building some fair lens stash cheap, like those 1.8 nikon primes and cheap sigma zooms.... fuck, I really wanted to travel light... Looking for a portraiture lens for my Rebel T5i /p/. I can't really afford much at the moment, as I have just bought this camera (which came with a EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM and a EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II). I'd like to keep it under $300 if possible. [EXIF data available. After all of my DSLR equipment was stolen I went back to a simple point-and-shoot camera. In a way I've been happy about it as it has taught quite a lot that I wouldn't had learned if I had "progressed" with my D90... Etc, banter aside. Anyways. I'm looking to get into a kind of an experiment: I'd like to purchase a combination of a very basic DSLR body together with kind of magnificent glass. Kind of like a Nikon D40 with some f1.2 lenses or something, although most of them seem to need a motor in the body so that one's out. I'd like to put as little money as possible on the body and most of it on the lenses. What body should I start with? Do they sell "new", packaged old bodies anywhere? I mean whether there is a place in the world where they have D50s or D70s that they were not able to sell and that are sitting to be sold? Canon too.

So I was thinking about getting a giottos ytl9383 as a first decent tripod, but after reading a few reviews of cases where one of the legs just came apart I am now about to order the vanguard alta pro 263. What is the best ball head that won't cost me more than the tripod itself (at most 70 pounds in other words) ? tl;dr best cheap ball head

Ok, so I have a question about the technical quality of some photos. I posted some of these in a thread a month or so ago, and the only comment I got was that they were 'shit negatives.' Hi, i am fairly new to photography and i have started to look for a fixed lens. As of now, i am unsure of which to get, a 50mm or a 35mm. The ones i have been looking at are the AF-S 50.mm f/1.8G Nikkor and the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G. I am looking for a lens i can use for street photography, anyone have any experience with these lenses? Sorry for gear-thread (kinda). PS. I want that BOKEH

Hello, /p/. I'm getting into SLR Video and I want to be able to shoot the most professional looking videos I can on a budget. I'm currently getting a Manfrotto ML360 LED panel for close-up video. I'm planning to get various other things like a dual hot shoe adapter for mounting the panel and a good condenser mic. I'm also looking at a handheld rig like the one I attached to this post, but my biggest concern is if I should drop big money on a professional video lens or would I possibly be able to shoot for a cheaper conversion lens, I'm not even sure if a conversion lens can be mounted on my lens. Can I get some help? [EXIF data available. Files look different in lightroom

4 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: files.jpg]
i'm hoping someone can help me here. For some reason my black and white files look different in lightroom than they did when I view them in anything else. The exported jpeg always has much less contrast. This only seems to happen with files from my ricoh GR. It's driving my crazy and I can't work out what's causing it? Any ideas? The image on the left is what the image looks like in LR and the one on the right is the expored jpeg in windows photo viewer. (ignore how shitty the images is, it's just an example)

Goddamnit /p/, I've got a problem. When I'm looking at the pictures I've taken, I can never decide what to do with them. Like: "Should I put it in black and white? Humm, that looks good. But I liked the colours too. A bit more contrast? A tad more brightness? Less?" I'm like this all the time. I mostly have this problem with street photography, shit, sometimes even with buildings. I often look back at them and think that x or y change would make it better, it's like I can never be done with editing some pictures. How can I be more decisive when editing my shots? Pic related, I can't commit to colour or B&W. [EXIF data available. I found my stolen gear on a craigslist post. I posed as an interested customer through email and got his home address. Should I just visit his house at night with some gasoline? What's the most effective way of causing him pain without me having to face him? I am literally shaking with anger.

Anyone have any experience with photograms or other non-camera photography? Taking a camera 101 course as an elective at university and it's my first time in darkroom. Cool stuff. I'll post a few of the prof's examples.

Hey there /p/. I enjoy making pictures, but I'm kind of limited with my camera at the moment. I'm rather interested in making pictures of the nature, especially when travelling and I would be willing to spend up to 1,000 € for a good camera. I'm not really interested in used ones though, so do you have any idea what's a good one for beginners, regarding my situation? Or what's a good camera for taking pictures of the nature (e.g. landscapes, animals such as walruses, froges or toucans etc.) in general? [EXIF data available.
