Don't you wish that you had a job as the photographer for the Missoulian newspaper? Check out this article that I got this picture from. http://missoulian.com/news/local/missoula-elementary-schoolers-learn-to-be-bear-aware-in-woods/artic le_c1a578a0-140a-11e2-b0d8-0019bb2963f4.html

QUESTIONS

I'm stuck in a trap. I take photos; I dislike the photos; I get put off taking photos; I get worse. I'm going to stop trying for a while. Take a break. In the meantime: 1. Do you consider yourself to be a good photographer? 2. Do others consider you to be a good photographer (do they tell you you are, or compliment you)? 3. Do you regularly achieve what you set out to achieve when you take photos? 4. What do you think would help you achieve your goals? E.g. longer/wider lens, newer body, different format, confidence, more money, more free time, new location? Elaborate! >1. No >2. Yes >3. No, but I think this is partly because I don't set myself any goal or have any direction in my shooting when I go out. >4. I've been considering medium format, but I haven't decided yet. I would like a wider lens for sure; my widest at the moment is 35mm which I sometimes struggle with. As I saw someone say on here "35mm is the jack of all trades, master of none". I'm thinking of investing in a 28mm or even a 24mm.

I have a Nikon Coolpix L120. I want to take pictures of PVC figures, so I guess mostly closeups indoors. I can't seem to take pictures worth a god damn with it though. Sometimes I press the button and the shutter takes 2 full seconds to finish snapping, by which time the entire picture looks like one of those long exposure ribbon light things. Or sometimes I press the button and nothing happens. So I press it again, nothing. I have to stand there and press as hard as I can before it even goes "Oh SHIT time to take a picture I guess" and my hand is shaking because I'm squeezing so hard. Anyways it's very difficult for me to get even one half-way passable picture out of a dozen goes. What can I do with these low-end digital cameras to make it look as close to a proper DSLR image as I can?

Hello /p/ First time posting in /a/. I just got a Mamiya MSX 500 from my boss and i'm not sure if it's worth fixing up to give as a present. I looked online for info on it, and there's some, but it's pretty much incomprehensible to me. I really don't know how good of a camera it is; is the image quality good? is it worth giving to someone? The lens for the model I have is 1:1.8 f=55mm It seems that for a 30+ year camera it's still selling for $80$ to $90, in mint condition. the one i have is still in pretty good conditions, just missing one button. pic related

Something to say about the Opteka Fish Eye lens? 6.5mm f/3.5... 280 bucks. Should I get it or not?

Why the Go Pro Hero3 is more expensive in EU than in the US? actually 399$ = 304,114€ (sauce: http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert/?language=fr&Amount=399&From=USD&To=EUR ) So why EU consumers should pay 150€ more than US consumers? And don't tell me it's shipping cost! They are not so expensive!

Some nigger tried to steal my camera bag today. He failed and ran away. I'm thinking of ghettoizing my camera bag so stupid fucks stop trying to grab it from me. Or just buying a nondescript bag. Pic related it's the bag. Your stories of gypsies/niggers trying to jack your shit?

Hey /p/. I find photos like these are amazing, but I cannot find a specific photgrapher who is dedicated on making photos like this. I prefer a dark atmosphere (e.g. in the woods at night) and probably also a view to the sky (also at night). Also horrifying photos are appreciated. Hope you can help me out, thx.

Thoughts on the D600 as an upgrade from the D7000? Got £1300.

So my brother wants a gopro hero 3 for christmas this year. He shoots short student films and would definitely get a ton of use out of it. However! I'm wondering if it would be better to just get him a dslr of some kind with a good prime? There's got to be a dslr that shoots better video right? thanks /p/ [EXIF data available. I need to show in 8 photos a "happy evening". I've never done a "fotosecuencia" (photo sequence?) before, does anyone have any advice in how to tell or show an idea like that in 8 pictures? Picture unrelated, one of my favourite pictures.

sRGB vs Adobe RGB, what's your shooting? I'm not gonna do large print, if any at all. So I guess sRGB will be fine, or? this guy:http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/adobe-rgb.htm
