just got the Scotland film back so here are a few. I don't have many so I dunno, call this a wilderness thread and get some more people contributing?

loads missing (including one i was really fucking exicted about), apparently because of blank frames in the film. my best guess is it's a problem with the new camera, probably because of the cold. i'm gutted

Since it looks like your film shots are just retakes of your digital ones, it makes me wonder why you even shot with your digital in the first place. Clearly these are superior to their digital counterparts.

shit, mate, these are awesome. And if you got to travel through the Scottish countryside shooting MF with this beautiful, well-dressed girl, then I'm very jealous.
>>1826754
A bit high-contrast don't you think? Could have retained more detail in the shadows/whites.

I feel like everyone in England should visit the Scottish Highlands. on certain roads every time you get around a bend it takes your breath away. just GO THERE! NOW! OK!!!

Two things really irk me, compositionally-speaking, about >>1826759
1) Dat every-so-slightly crooked, centered horizon. I'm not one of those people who will rage every single time somebody has a centered horizon, but it doesn't seem to serve any purpose in this photo.
2) I'm not a bit fan of the way the little rock pile ends almost exactly on the horizon. I wish you were bent down just a few more feet or standing just a few feet higher so that you didn't have those that point meeting that line.
Same thing with >>1826771
The fact that the top of her head lines up almost perfectly with the line made from the top of the mountains is very distracting. She gets lost in the frame.

Other than that, I like these shots, OP.

did you handhold these? I know the 67 is a beastly thing, but some of them seem to be taken from eye-level

it adds up if you're like me and get carried away and take too many photos. even more when more than half of those photos are blank frames. i'm quite sad about that.

>>1826767
oh and i feel like i should credit nouveau here as he took a very similar (better) photo a bit like this one way before this. i don't think i had this specifically in mind when i took this photo but there's definitely a strong similarity.

thank you! I'm marketing manager for a photography studio but they don't really do the kind of photography i'm interested in. I manage accounts with lots of other businesses and do corporate photography for them, shoot the odd wedding/bar mitzvah and swanky event (took photos of HRH Prince Phillip around a year ago!). I also run photography training courses for the same company. when asked i just say i'm in sales though.

good point, yes i did a test roll, some of them were taken in the cold too. actually i didn't specifically count them but i didn't notice any were missing either. i'll wait until i get back to the office and count the test roll shots and then when the film arrives i'll inspect it and take it up either with aperture (where i bought the camera) or peak imaging (where the film was developed. actually if anyone else has any suggestions for what might have happened i'm grateful...

Charlie, just looked through your flickr. I love your stuff. You shoot just like I do. Thanks for your inspiration.

May I ask how you are able to buy the gear you use? D700, M6, pentax etc.?

I'm a poorfag, what do you recommend?

thanks very much! i like changing cameras quite often, i try and justify it by saying i like being forced to learn a new camera as it brings about a change in methodology/approach blah blah blah, however it's probably just horrible gearfaggotry mixed with never being satisfied with my own photography and trying to change that with external factors rather than internal.

tips: you can usually sell older cameras for what you got them for, and if you ever get a student loan just spend the fucking lot on the best camera you can afford and deal with the crippling financial strife with opportunism and hard work. i'm slightly ashamed to say that the d700 with 24-70 was actually a 21st birthday present from my dad. he wanted to get a watch but he's pragmatic so understood when i suggested he use that money on something i could use to make my own money. but i sold and bought the 5d mk ii which some of /p/ still remembers because i made some stupid comments about why i made that decision
