tl;dr: want to make paper glossy & reflective

I'm building a car and want to make it glossy somehow.
The effect I'm looking for is basically picture related.
How do I achieve a reflective, glossy, ( or somewhat metallic) look on my papercrafts?
Do I have to use metallic or glossy paper, gloss finish, spray-paint, acrylic gloss paint?
So far I've tried diluted glue and spray-glue because I've read somewhere that it would give it a shiny finish but both completely ruined the colors.
I've noticed even regular acrylic paint does a good job at reflecting at least some light.
