Crease Patterns

I just found a punch of crease patterns I eventually want to get around to making, but I have no fucking clue what I'm doing. Are there any good places where you can learn how to get started on puzzling out crease patterns? Tadashi Mori has short video that didn't really explain much other than looking for familiar base fold CPs, and I read part of a couple articles that mostly just said "crease patterns are important."

MGS REX

Starting a new build of the Metal Gear Solid REX mech. I built one around 8 years ago, not sure what happened to it. I kind of wanted to print out some non-coloured, lines only version of the image related stencils so I could later just paint the whole thing to make it look better. Just ended up printing as is on matte cardstock. Glossy (what I used for rex v1.0) produced a good result too. Anything relating to MGS, mechs, robots etc. ITT.

Does anyone know how to make this kind of origami? A crane with no wings, basically. A link to a tutorial would be great. Thanks.

How do you prevent dust from fusing into the surface of your papercraft over the years?

Airliner thread. Does /po/ like my 1:144 Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental? I designed it myself and am going to rebuild it at 1:72 soon.
