I use a few different craft knives regularly, as most of you probably do. A couple weeks ago I decided I wanted to upgrade, find a replacement for the nasty surgical scalpel handle. I quickly found the Olfa AK-4, and despite continuous searching afterwards I couldn't find a higher quality knife. I bought one, and it is definitely the nicest craft knife I've had.
I'm really picky about some of my tools though. I'll be content with the Olfa knife if I have to, but I want something nicer. Folding knives and fountain pens both easily go into the $200 range, but I don't need to stab anyone or write a novel. I want to do papercraft. I've ~4 years of machining experience, so making a knife from scratch seemed logical. I'm not that well-off though; I can't put $600 into a single knife, which is probably roughly what it'd cost to make one because of all the tooling required. For instance, the grooves that hold the blade likely will be done by a die sinker EDM, which (you guessed) I don't have in my bedroom.
If there's external interest though, this pursuit might be worth the effort. A batch of ten knives is worth the trouble. I don't intend to make any money, despite the labor involved. I'm mostly after a really, really nice knife handle. They'd cost close to USD $250 each. I know this is 4chan and likely not my target audience, but some of you must appreciate top-notch tools. I'm interested in your opinions, suggestions, trolling, etc.
Construction details to follow. Picture quite related.

The Affordable Health Care Act/ObamaCare.
I recently purchased a health insurance plan on the market place since my current employer doesn't offer any benefits. I decided on one of the mid coverage silver plans. My rates are $208 per month, $25 copay office visits, $50 specialist office visits, and a $500 max deductible. This is including my monthly tax credit based on my income.
My previous employer of about3 years ago offered group coverage. About $70 per pay period (bi weekly, usually about $140 per month) was the rate and they offered $30 copay all office visits, dental, and a $1200 max deductible.
Even when I had benefits through my employer I thought it was a bit high, and that was over 3 years ago, what I have now is not much more and seems pretty similar.
This new law doesn't seem horrific as some say, but on the other hand I don't think it's like sliced bread. But it is something at least.

I need a ton of disposable TF2 hat props for an event but have had some difficulty. These are the best I've found so far, does anyone have better suggestions?
Results so far:
Scout: 'papercraft batting helmet' get's me Daft Punk or real ones.
Soldier: I think people generally just go to surplus stores, no luck on a M1 helmet.
Pyro: Jackpot. mfpaper on blogspot has a portal section, I think the hats he has there would work.
Demoman: No riot helmets. There's the tophat but I don't feel that's 'iconic' enough. Cheap afro wigs and head bands may be considered a bit racist, which we sadly cannot get away with here.
Heavy: Rescale and recolor of the classic football helmet, easily found.
Engineer: Hoping to find better, this will do. http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/gallery/gallerydetails.php?id=832
Medic: Google 'papercraft pickelhaube'
Sniper: See: Jackpot.
Spy: See: Jackpot
Edited to hopefully avoid spam filter.
