Well, I suppose the core of this model is complete. Now the only things that need to be designed are attachments. Oh, and I'll have to make a final build of the stock.

Structurally, this Hk416 will be similar to my AR, with slight improvements here and there. The biggest differences are the barrel and the stock, notorious failure points which have been reworked now.

It's still too early to build a new receiver, but I did want to correct some of the previous model's shortcomings.

The buffer tube is more substantial, and firmly attached to the lower, so we no longer have to worry about it wobbling.

It's also hollow, which opens up some possibilities regarding the bolt carrier's movement, but I haven't experimented in that direction yet. The bolt carrier is similar to the old one (that is, shortened and connected to the charging handle).

This is a slightly test build of the stock, attached to the test receiver, so I will have to build it again.

The barrel is realistically thinner, and bound by a connector band, so it doesn't break off.

Another innovation here is that the front of the handguard has a hollow space between it and the barrel.

What firearms models is everyone else working on? Has anyone attempted to build the (slightly squeezed) Mk14 EBR recently on only-paper?

>paper hk416
aw yes

I actually tried making one myself using two of the handguard with rails glues together. Turned out too long, so I just say its a 417. Made a shitty sniper scope for it even. I'll see if i can post pics later.

Also Shirtless, I love your work, it's so nice to see well designed papercaft guns around, kepp it up!

Pretty good OP, one problem I see is that the spiraling on the muzzle is going in the wrong direction, but other than that it is nice

Although it's not really part of this model, I noticed there hasn't been a rail cover since V1, so here's a new rail cover.

The ridges are a bit wide on this test build. They've been narrowed a bit since.

On the same note, it seems that it's time for an updated suppressor.

It's a... sequence of pipes.

Is it really necessary to have four times as many parts as the V1 suppressor? Well, they are mostly here for rigidity. It's much, much more solid.

The original reason for double wraparound was to allow for dimples in the surface: they would consist of holes in the outer face, while the face underneath it would have color. However, let's start off with something relatively plain for now.

Doesn't quite look as good with this long barrel, but at least it fits. The earliest build was a bit off.
