OK, i think i have a final solution for the CAPTCHA problem. it rewards users who contribute good content. 1. make a userbase of like 30 trustworthy people. 2. tell these users to look through the content on 4chan and to decide whether it makes sense or not to take away the verification on the User IP. 3. make as many IPs verification free as possible per day. but only on posts that indicate human content. 4. build up a userbase that contributes human content and doesnt gets annoyed by captcha all the time ??? Profit?

Autoban is broken

8 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: fucking bullshit.jpg]
So, earlier today (or technically yesterday due to timezones) I posted a comment on /v/ about game reviews and when they could be posted. In it I wrote out a date and time, except I replaced all the numbers with the letter "x" to denote that it was a variable date (as in it could apply to many situations in the context). For some reason, the ban-filter did not like this and without warning banned me, and because of the duration of the ban I could not appeal. This was obviously the ban-filter failing or a failure of communication. Basically the ban-filter is a stupid idea when applied to something as abstract as a few x's in a row. I mean I'm guessing there was some thought-process behind this, but I doubt my post applied to said thought-process. I can understand why it exists but I think it needs to be fixed. My basic suggestion to fix this is three-fold. First, it should warn first then ban. How the fuck was I supposed to know it would ban me? I wouldn't, no sane person would, it's stupid to think I would know not to make a comment with x's in it. Second, there really needs to be more explanation than "you used a banned word" for the ban description. Hell, for all I know some other word triggered the filter, I'm just assuming it was the x's. I really had no idea what was going on when I got the ban. And third, auto-bans really should be reviewed by moderators, or maybe even janitors. The auto-ban isn't perfect, it fails, especially for a filter so abstract as x's. There should be human review to make sure someone wasn't banned for no good reason. Basically I got banned and now I want to whine about it even after the ban has expired.

A question for the mods. Does moot share any of the Ad revenue and 4chan pass money, after taking care of server bills and etc?

/med/ - Medical Help

9 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: adawaf.png]
How about a medical help board? Sometimes we just plain don't trust Google, or sometimes we just can't find our problem through Google. Either way, that leaves us with two options: we go see a doctor (which is expensive and timely), or we ask /k/ or /b/ (which is timely and more often than not ultimately unfruitful [if asking /k/] or just plain stupid [asking /b/]). A medical help board would be able to answer all the dumb questions you couldn't waste a doctor's time on, questions the doctor would regard as suspicious, questions so specific all the power of Google can't help, questions that if entered into Google would garner you unwanted attention from law enforcement, and so on. How about that?

Do you know the "15-18" ?

If yes, what do you think ?

I can't be the only one whose Captcha has a 50% or so failure rate, regardless of whether or not I type it in right. Anyways, I'm well aware that moot isn't going to do anything about that because apparently ReCaptcha is the only post verification that can handle 4chan's traffic. As much as it infuriates me, I guess it can't be helped. What I'd like to request is that when images are posted, the Captcha is verified BEFORE the image starts uploading, so in the event of Captcha failing, I don't have to wait for the image to upload again. Also, please take Captcha off /f/. The Zeitgeist "spam" that we're talking about is this one consistent poster who makes 2-4 flash posts a day of the SAME SHIT over and over again. Adding Captcha to /f/ did not help AT ALL. We had NO issues with spambots, only one consistent shitposter that apparently mods couldn't be fucked to deal with.

Idiots trying to get /pol/ shut down

56 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: nope.jpg]
/pol/ is a place for free speech. The people demanding an entire board is shut down are being silly. do as you will mods, but don't listen to them, if you do do something to /pol/ attack individuals, not a whole board. I don't know what these people's motive is, but I assume it's people who are used to the echo chamber that is reddit or /b/ (when /b/ isn't being le edgy).

Shitposters on /v/ is probably an organized group

69 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: v sucks.png]
Can we get some sociologist to analyze this shit? I swear this must be pathologic, there's just no fucking way a thread can turn into that in a matter of a minute or two. On the other hand, now I'm pretty sure that there's a vocal minority on /v/ whose simple aim is to destroy the board. I don't know why, I don't know who these people are, but I'm sure as fuck it can't be everyone, and you will all be able to tell when you'll read this thread archive.foolz.us/v/thread/160815968/

4chan Soundtrack: Almost There

90 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: grundomaximumswag.png]
About three weeks ago I made this project about remaking a soundtrack for 4chan. http://pastebin.com/jzTrDDxJ Feel free to add in suggestions for the remaining boards (the ones with no culture) and ideas for covers. Besides at least discussion about this is more productive than these repetitive and futile complaints.

/vg/ needs IDs

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT, add IDs to /vg/. You'll kill off 90% of the shitposting in a single bat. Just test it out for one week.

General /v/ discussion

Continuing from >>243765 Pretty much everyone can agree that many things are wrong with /v/ and threads like http://archive.foolz.us/v/thread/161280115 prove how fucked up the board is on a regular basis. Something really needs to be done.

Spam on /f/, again

147 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: 1284772115984.jpg]
/f/ has been bombarded with this "resource based economy" spam for months now, and it's been getting worse and worse lately. Will anything ever be done about this shit? Administrator Reply: >>269180

Forced-anon on /pol/

Can /pol/ please get forced-anon? The trips in the picture were all gathered by myself in the last 24 hours. The shitposting and circlejerking is getting ridiculous.

So about the general MLP quarantine

230 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: Opininions.jpg]
Can we lower the restrictions? I understand that it got out of control on /b/ and spread like a plague, but I would at least like it to be reinstated as a discussable topic on /co/. It's still a cartoon, and we should still be able to discuss it there. Now all shitposting and spam with ponies hsould be deleted no question, but I don't think it's fair to seal all of the show and it's fans in one place. My suggestion is to keep all of the "Who is best pony" and fandom clutter on /mlp/ and let the option of actual show discussion take place on /co/

Young Justice auto-ban on /co/

22 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ayn_rand.jpg]
Anyway we can get any sort of autoban for "Young Justice" and "YJ" on /co/, like /lit/ had with Ayn Rand. It does nothing but shit up the board.

LP Threads.

http://www.boards.4chan.org/v/res/161507770 Dear 4chan and /q/ I gat5her you here today to cast judgement on this thread and othes' like it. Do they belong on /v/ or /vg/. I feel it should be up to the mods and /q/ to decide ONCE and for ALL. The judgement passed shall be final and for eternity, until stated other-wise. There is no question of aggrement.

Tea threads on /jp/ are spam and need to go

303 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: tea.jpg]
>Oriental Beauty is a Taiwanese oolong that has a pronounced honey aroma and notes of spice >Longjing tea is a variety of pan-fried green tea from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China >Phoenix Oolong Tea is delicious roasted oolong from Guangdong, China What the hell do Chinese drinks have to do with otaku culture? The only reason they're still here is because of an ironic thread made during shitposting hours that was accidentally taken seriously. http://archive.foolz.us/jp/thread/8745722/#8745722 That thread contains the *ONLY* defense tea threads have going for them: >Tea is connected to /jp/ being made of pure maidens. It's also connected to touhous. Which leads to a very appropriate response: >Does that mean bread is /jp/ related because Marisa eats bread? I also seriously doubt that the picture in this OP wasn't faked. http://archive.foolz.us/jp/thread/8750066/ Either way you look at this, the mods definitely messed up. /jp/ is not your /ck/ dumping ground. Even if the tea being discussed was from Japan, it still doesn't belong on /jp/. The board is called Otaku Culture for a reason.

Please remove Captcha from /f/

12 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: f captcha 5.png]
Pic says it all. The "spam" is caused by a human and not by bots so the captcha will not stop it. The captcha makes the board slower so it will make the "spam" worse if anything. The "spam" is virtually nonexistent and consists of a few zeitgeist flashes a day at worst.
