Photons and antimatter

Alright /sci/, I'm probably going to sound like a complete retard, but I figured this would be the best place to post these questions. Note that this I have no formal education in particle physics beyond my own gleaning from the interwebz and an extremely brief lesson in a HS chemistry class. Ordering from most to least importance, my questions are: 1:Do photons have mass or not? 2:Do photons have an anti-particle? 3:If the answers to 1 is no and 2 is yes, would the photon and anti photon termination produce energy? 3:How do we observe dark matter? 4:Do all particles have an antiparticle?

light minus electricity equals magnetism?

If the boson for the electromagnetic force is a photon, the electric force is shared by the positron and electron by their polarity respectively, what is the force carrier for magnetism? And can it be bound to an electron/positron pair to make a photon of a certain energy? Pic unrelated, just interesting

I'm tired of physicists (or worse, physics majors) behaving as if they have the authority to speak on every scientific field. You don't. Your knowledge of stars and atoms doesn't mean you have anything more than a basic understanding of biology or psychology, so stop.

Is thorium really the answer? Are all the claims true, or is it just snake oil? I want to believe.

Hey, /sci/. /lit/ here. I'm working on a story for a writing class and I wanted to know how scientifically accurate/plausible it is. Oh, and how interesting you guys think it is in general. An insomniac takes some heavy sleeping pills and hurts his head before the pills take effect. Now he has to stay away instead of risking death by going to sleep and deals with the hallucinations he sees from the pills.

I'm not very well read in modern science. Is it possible to synthesize complex substances without elaborate machinery? Barring simple stuff like bunsen burners. For example, can you make water from a supply of hydrogen and oxygen without some enormous automated device? What about more complex substances, such as might be of use in agriculture? Synthetic oxytocin, for example.

I never see any of these threads, so let's do one. How are your classes, /sci/? What are your professors like? How's your program, and what are you doing outside of class?

Is it correct to consider psychology and psychoanalysis sciences? Shouldn't science rely on tangible things that can be verified with 100% accuracy?

Glassware

Anyone have experience buying glassware online? Particularly these kits on eBay http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/171444356033?nav=SEARCH Are they strong and durable? The price is good, they'd cost more than twice that from UK suppliers, but they tend to be Pyrex marked. Is the quality on these Chinese manufacturers a similar quality? Hell they could come out the same factory as the ones sold in the UK anyway for all I know. Anyway, also open to discussion of what people have done with their home lab.
