Hey /sci/ serious question about my future, I'm in late highschool, atleast 90+ average, very gifted in math and physics. I'm very interested in space and anything like that, thinking about working for NASA but not sure yet, I live in Canada right now. I was mostly planning into going into aerospace engineering, found a great program at University of Toronto, but not sure because astrophysics sounds interesting as well, want to also make atleast 6 figures, thanks for all the helps guys.

Can anyone help me with this question? As to what code I need to use to get this type of sample. The question is Create a synthetic sample using the size of 404,638 where 67.8% of the released prisoners are coded with a 1 and the rest are coded as 0

What happens to mass at lightspeed? Why exactly cannot mass exceed the speed of light? I've just read about Einstein's rules but never understood them.

NASA's Big Pluto Announcement

0 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
It seems like this has been a rather exciting year for the organization following the announcement of there being water on the red planet of Mars. Now apparently this Thursday, NASA is set to make another big announcement regarding the dwarf-planet of Pluto. Since it had already been revealed by New Horizons that this world has mountains, ravines, and other sorts of pleasantry. I honestly have no idea what this announcement could be that rivals that of water on Mars. Which is indicated it is more or less equal to that due to the amount of secrecy the organization is putting forth. Obviously it is not anything big like life on the planet or even ruins of an advanced civilization that died off long ago, but seriously, what the hell could this announcement be? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/nasa-amazing-announcement-pluto-alan-stern-a6684981.html

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSYnGxzHA00 Graphene is a unique material, cheap to produce and many times stronger than steel by weight. But, we haven’t quite figured out how best to use it... yet.

How to improve cognitive function?

Hey smart faggots, how do I make myself smarter? Practice mentally demanding arithmetic, reading, being more hydrated, what? I need to know what you guys do as individuals for 1) mental exercise, 2) staying mentally sharp, and 3) what activities you do on a daily basis that involves cognitive effort also tell me your generic daily thought processes, how you interpret things in any given situation, etc, shit like that. It would be greatly appreciated.

Is Fortran a good first programming language? I'm transferring from a CC to a 4 year college next semester. One of the first courses I'll take is an intro programming for physics majors that uses Fortran. They also use C++ but that seems to come towards the end of the course. Would it be good to start trying to learn Fortran now? Or pick a different language to get comfortable with before I have to take that class?

Any of you fuccbois grow uninterested and jaded at life after realizing just how insignificant we are in this galaxy, and just how limited we are as human beings that we're likely to never leave our own solar system, let alone our galaxy? Just look at it, anon. It's so beautiful that I want to go there and touch it and see it with my own eyes. Unfortunately, we're limited by these flimsy shit bags called human bodies. Fuck this life.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6N_4jGJADY Wikipedia says that its density is 0.9 kg/m^3 At sea level and at 15 °C, air has a density of approximately 1.225 kg/m^3 Am I missing something here or is this just Boeing PR fluff?

My throat

Does anyone know what this is. The right side of my throat was sore, and that's fine now, but now the left side feels swolen, sort of stings, and has whatever the fuck these things are. I've tried throat spray, mucinex, Benadryl, ibuprofen, tea, gargling peroxide and salt water, and cough drops, and nothing makes it better. Can anyone help?

You can run a Stirling engine backwards and use it to generate a temperature gradient, but why does the gas drop in temperatuer when it is expanded on the cold side? I thought that from PV = nRT, if you increase the volume by moving the piston, the pressure drops, and temperature stays constant?
