Friend recommended I try some Benadryl as a sleep aid (not daily use, but when feeling shitty, as I am right now) -- said they put him out like a log but also gave him "wild dreams." Besides the dreams part, which is anecdotal, is there anything I should know about using antihistamines as a sleep inducer rather than as allergy relief? I don't imagine any crazy side-effects from just one experimental use, but I wonder if /sci/ has any words of wisdom or experiences with this.
Idiots in the lab, academic or work

Lets have some "holy fucking shit are you serious" stories - academic or business. I'll start.
>Experiment calls for 0.0100M NaOH to be produced
>A student gets out a 100 mL volumetric flask and filled it to the point with 50 wt. % NaOH and proceeds to use this for his experiment.
>Get called over because "experiment isn't working!?! help!"
>Notice the crystallization on the glassware and fumes, that isn't right, "Whats that anon-student?"
>"Muh 50 wt. % NaOH"
This is a junior level class. He's had 3 courses before this to get here. So a year and a half. He didn't understand the concept of weight % and dilution factors, some fucking how.
Another, at a work lab not a student lab
>Test tubes everywhere, liquids everywhere
>Anon what was in the tubes?- nervously ask from other side of room, do we need acid cleanup or?
>"I don't know."
>You don't KNOW?
>YOUR FUCKING EXPERIMENT AND YOUR BEING PAID TO DO IT
>THE FUCK MAN
Why does learning how your enjoyments work lead to anhedonia?

This may be just me, but personally, thinking about the past and how my life has changed, it all really started when I started asking "why".
What I mean by this is when people usually find out how and why their stimulus responds the way it does, how hormonal changes explains our behaviors and desires, how you can manipulate and train your brain to feel/act a certain way, it kinda takes the joy out of things does it not?
Anyone else suffer from anhedonia because of this? Or at least find it virtually impossible to enjoy things?
General brain functionality discussion I guess

Doctor Sci, I've had a cramp in my right foot since chidhood, triggered by clenching toes.
I have a slight ligament (?) problem on my right leg, which leads to an inwardly turned foot, seems muscular rather than skeletal
I am right handed, nothing unusual except my excessive clumsiness with my left hand
Lastly, when I have an orgasm, I cannot open my right eye. It compulsively closes.
What is the meaning of all of this?
Gin completely unrelated to my poor posting coherence. Rum's the cause of that.

Here is an elementary school math problem. Solving it by trials and error is pretty easy, but is it possible to turn this into an equation, and solving it, rather than try every possible numbers?
"Paul has a certain number of marbles. If he loses two marbles, then the number of marbles he has left is a multiple of 11. If he receives two marbles, the number is a multiple of 12. How many marbles does Paul possess, knowing he owns less than 100 marbles?"
