Arabs, why aren't they contributing to science?

What changed since the golden age that makes Arabs completely irrelevant to science today?

Theorem: Intelligence is detrimental to existence Proof: Intelligent people have less kids, more likely to be depressed and kill themselves. More likely to be nihilistic. Thus, being intelligent increases mortality and decreases chance of reproduction. Hence, intelligence is not a favorable trait for humanity. Is there anything wrong with this proof?

Microscope Maintenance help

i need help cleaning a microscope, i think there is something wrong with mine, im getting a weird "foggy window" effect when i use my 60x and 100x objectives, im also noticing some "wipe" marks on my eye pieces at the 100x objective that is making it insanely hard to see anything even with immersion oil. what do you guys do to clean and maintain your microscopes?

The furthest known galaxy has been discovered this March http://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2016/hubble-team-breaks-cosmic-distance-record It's called GN-z11 and it's 32 billion light-years away. I have a question, if we can now see galaxies that existed just 200 million years after the Big Bang does that mean that soon we will be able to see the Big Bang itself?

Is the country where you take your PhD especially relevant? My former MSc supervisor says Spain PhDs are shit tier, but honestly, I think he might be biased and might have interest in keeping me to apply for a PhD with him in my country. That is pretty much out of the question, since I want to either go abroad, or stay in a R&D position in a company as I am currently. The situation is as follows: I currently have two pending applications in my field for Spain, one I need to give a yes or no answer pretty soon, and the other awaiting a final response (both of which my supervisor is discouraging heavily), and one awaiting any response for now in the Netherlands. I don't necessarily need help deciding, but I'd like to know your opinion on how the country affects the quality of your PhD and in what way.

so today my physics teacher raised a very good point, if the universe is expanding what is it expanding into, my thoughts were we could be the second big bang expanding into the remains of an old one. Whats your opinions /sci/

What is the point of pure mathematics? Most of it has no application to anything useful.

When you hear about how a planet the size of mars, 4 billion years ago, impacted the earth and created the moon, how come the moon appears to be a perfect sphere from the outside? same with the earth and other planets. how come they have the appearance of a perfect circle? is this the result of billions of years of something?

new robotics course

So /sci/, a uni I'm interested in going to is starting a "robotics" course this year. They arent saying what's on it because all the modules are still yet to be confirmed. If I apply, what's the likelihood that it'll be a legit mechatronics engineering course and what's the likelihood that it'll just be CompSci feat. Arduino?

Labeled special needs kid with aspergers in high school now I want to prove people some what wrong. Back in high school I was made to take special needs maths, I think I am capable of learning math but I don't know where adults can go to learn such basic things. I don't ever have to ever expect to be able to do complicated math but I'd like to learn at least how to do multiplication, addition and subtraction and division my whole life so I don't feel completely retarded my whole life. The only way I seem to remember multiplication is by thinking of how car engines work. For example 4x4 = a 4 cylinder twincam engine so that's for valves per cylinder which ads up to 16. t than if it was a 6 cylinder motor with 4 valves per cylinder it would be 24, valves. For me that is the easiest way to remember things. How can I learn enough math skills to not feel retarded?

There can't be a coolest tool than this!
