Control Engineering Thread

Is there any control engineers here? I, as an undergrad chemical engineering student interested in process control, would like to ask some things about a control engineer work. First, where can I work? I'm aware that there are companies specialized in process control and optimization that provide services to the industry. But how about work ~directly~ in the industry, like in a oil or food company? Are there jobs that deal with control problems regularly, or those industries usually hire specialized companies for that? How hard is find a job in control engineering, in comparison with jobs in other chemical engineering fields? Also, would you recommend getting a master for that kind of work? >inb4 go to /adv/ I know it would be more appropriete ask there, but I think /sci/ can get me better answers. Also, if anyone want to talk about your experiences, it would be very nice.

Hey /sci/ I have severe social anxiety. Are there any drugs that actually solve this problem? I've tried some so far but I haven't noticed any results.

Is there a simulator, or a program, to learn about and solve Math and Physics problems? Something like Wolfram Alpha, but more videogame-like, or simulator-like

Hey /sci/, I'm trying to find my father's biological parents. Which DNA service (23andme, AncestryDNA, etc) will give me the best chance at hitting a lead? I don't want to have to spend hundreds of dollars on several of the tests...

Hey /sci/, /tg/ here with a chemistry question. Are there any smokeless propellants you could replace gunpowder with that don't require any petroleum products? I've been looking at ingredients and noticed basically all of them need petroleum jelly or the like as a stabilizer. If not, is there anything you could use to replace the petroleum jelly? Worldbuilding on a planet that doesn't have any significant oil reserves.

NEW ENERGY

Lets talk about new power options. Get in here if you know about it. Why dont we take light and separate it into a bunch of sets of small wave lengths, and have a sensor that reacts to this narrow range of energy and converts it into DC.

The vector [69, 69, 69] can moved to any point in R3 as vectors do not have a fixed position. Therefor, [69, 69, 69] can trace out all of R3. Therefor, [69, 69, 69] spans R3.

Insect Thread

Howdy, /sci/, what's your favorite insect defense mechanism or just oddball insect behavior? I'll start: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_U-1kPbvj8Q The motherfucking bombardier beetle, literally roasts its enemies alive. It ejects a mixture of two chemicals from its abdomen which, on contact, vaporize and rapidly heat up while traveling towards its targets, literally cooking them alive.
