Hey guys, I need some chem help Find the atoms whose ions have an electron configuration of nd^5 (n = 3, 4 ,5...)? Check all that apply Rn Tc N Sr Fe Re I think Sr and Rn don't work but I'm not 100%. If someone could walk through the process I would really appreciate it.

Is the golden ratio being more visually appealing bullshit, or is there a science behind it ? Also why do people find orange & blue contrast more appealing, than any other color set ?

Down Syndrome might be living historic proof of evolution. Down Syndrome results when there is an extra 21st chromosome made, giving the person 3 of those chromosomes. People with Down Syndrome look differently in not only their face, but their entire anatomy. Maybe by studying Down Syndrome it can shed light on how we evolved. The biology of someone with DS is so similar to our past ancestors that might unlock SOME sort of knowledge. I have recklessly assembled some pictures without any description in hopes of throwing out this fascinating idea out to the public as quickly as possible. I hope it's straightforward. (also the hand on the bottom right is a regular present day human hand for reference. And the black and white photo on the bottom left is thought to be our 2 million year old ancestor).

Lil help, /sci/? Optimally fluoridated water systems add fluoride to a level between 0.7 - 1.2 mg F per liter of water. What mass of H2SiF6 should be added to 1.00 L of water, in order to add the optimal 0.70 mg of free fluoride ion?

Trolling aside, is UCSD a good school for their Math - Computer Science major? (Should I switch to pure Computer Science?) I am also considering UCI for Software Engineering and UCD/UCSB for Comp Sci. What do /sci/? What do you guys think? >tfw your korean roommate only speaks to other koreans in korean

What do you think about this situation. Apparently, research from Stanford suggest that this little guy (pic related) has human DNA. Seems to be real because of the autors of the investigation, as far as I know, Dr. Garry Nolan is not a charlatan but a recognized scientist. So, is this an alien or just a very little mutant human who survived from 6 to 8 years of life. Some thoughts?

Is dark matter and dark energy just a convenient excuse that scientists use because what they observe doesn't fit with what they predicted?

So the Higgs thing is probably old news by now and I'm guessing most people here are familiar with it. Why ddin't they declare the particle discovered ath the LHC the Higgs right away? Was there an important physical property that has not been determined at the time?
