Hey guys, I need some chem help Find the atoms whose ions have an electron configuration of nd^5 (n = 3, 4 ,5...)? Check all that apply Rn Tc N Sr Fe Re I think Sr and Rn don't work but I'm not 100%. If someone could walk through the process I would really appreciate it.

What if we don't clear up the space junk we have circling our planet and it eventually makes satellite usage and space travel impossible? What will happen?

Hello /sci/. I got into an argument against my teacher and entire class that 9/11 was an inside job. They make me look like a lunatic. My teacher offered me the chance to do an entire presentation in front of the class to bring up all the evidence and best arguments I can supporting that 9/11 was in-fact an inside job. I have as long as I need to finish my project. I was thinking about just copying everything from "9/11 in plane sight" and "loose change" then putting it in my own words and taking all the pictures and videos off those documentaries. But i dont want it to be that similar to it. How should I go about this? What type of facts can I bring up, and what pictures and videos can I show? I know you guys would know the best so I'm asking you, since everyone here agrees that 9/11 was an inside job. I should also add that the teacher is getting another student to counter-argue me after the presentation. I have completed an entire outline showing everything I know so far and I would like you guys help me complete it. I will post the outline in my next post.

Down Syndrome might be living historic proof of evolution. Down Syndrome results when there is an extra 21st chromosome made, giving the person 3 of those chromosomes. People with Down Syndrome look differently in not only their face, but their entire anatomy. Maybe by studying Down Syndrome it can shed light on how we evolved. The biology of someone with DS is so similar to our past ancestors that might unlock SOME sort of knowledge. I have recklessly assembled some pictures without any description in hopes of throwing out this fascinating idea out to the public as quickly as possible. I hope it's straightforward. (also the hand on the bottom right is a regular present day human hand for reference. And the black and white photo on the bottom left is thought to be our 2 million year old ancestor).

Humanity is going to the stars. one way or another, it will happen. but before we sow our seeds of life in the great star field of our universe, we have to spread to the planets. in our own solar system. you know, baby steps, right? as for the first planet we colonize, my money, along with many others, is on Mars. there are many ideas as far as how to colonize it, many of them are theoretically possible. but no matter how we make Mars habitable, it wont make a difference. Mars will simply die again within a few hundred thousand years. The problem is, Mars is dead right now for a reason. i believe it was dated by geological evidence that Mars's magnetic field shut down about 4 billion years ago. the reason: the convection columns in the planets cooled, then collapsed. the magnetic field vanished, and over a short period by geological time, much of the atmosphere was blasted away one molecule at a time by the solar winds. so, knowing this, we would be beyond stupid to attempt to terraform mars before finding a way to prevent its atmosphere from being blasted away again. We are going to figure out how to prevent this, or at least start to figure it out, or, failing that, we are going to attempt to figure it out. i have a few vague ideas that probably wont work, but i dont want to predispose you to any of my ideas, thereby limiting your potential creativity in the matter. >>td;lr once Mars is terraformed, how do we keep the atmosphere from being blasted away again?

I was told part of the reason why men have such higher sex drives than woman is due to the fact that men can't get pregnant, therefore for the purposes of reproduction they have a much urger urge in order to compensate with the fact that they can breed all the time. But why don't woman have the some urge/drive during the periods they are not pregnant?

Is dark matter and dark energy just a convenient excuse that scientists use because what they observe doesn't fit with what they predicted?
