Hey guys, I need some chem help Find the atoms whose ions have an electron configuration of nd^5 (n = 3, 4 ,5...)? Check all that apply Rn Tc N Sr Fe Re I think Sr and Rn don't work but I'm not 100%. If someone could walk through the process I would really appreciate it.

Hey /sci/. I tried to ask in /b/, but I didn't have a good answer. Hope you can help me. What is a "Gadolinium Gallium Garnet Quantum Electronic Processor"?

Is the golden ratio being more visually appealing bullshit, or is there a science behind it ? Also why do people find orange & blue contrast more appealing, than any other color set ?

Is dark matter and dark energy just a convenient excuse that scientists use because what they observe doesn't fit with what they predicted?

So the Higgs thing is probably old news by now and I'm guessing most people here are familiar with it. Why ddin't they declare the particle discovered ath the LHC the Higgs right away? Was there an important physical property that has not been determined at the time?

Any Physics majors in here? I'll start uni next year and I'd like to hear experiences and stuff from people who are already in it. What should I know before getting into it?

What the hell is a wave function? I understand the basics of functional analysis and C* algebras, operators on Hilbert spaces, the correspondence between classical statistical mechanics (probability measures as the extreme points of the dual space to C(X), where X is supposed to be the R^n space representing position and momentum), but what are the wave functions? Are they actual L^2 functions? Are we talking about L^2(R^3) or something like that, so that the wave functions are literally functions that can be evaluated?

/sci/, I think I have a condition. You see, I was born with glass bones and paper skin. Every morning, I break my arms. Every afternoon, I break my legs. Each night, I lie awake in agony until my heart attacks put me to sleep. What do you reckon?
