Hey guys, I need some chem help Find the atoms whose ions have an electron configuration of nd^5 (n = 3, 4 ,5...)? Check all that apply Rn Tc N Sr Fe Re I think Sr and Rn don't work but I'm not 100%. If someone could walk through the process I would really appreciate it.

So, why did that Ishmael guy in MGS5 give BB Digoxin? I read on Wikipedia that it essentially helps your heart recovering from failure, but would it really restore movement?

First Sexual Contact

Having browsed the seedier side of the Internet, I have found that many people wish to fuck sapient species that aren't human. So, if we meet new sapient species out there among the stars...would it be considered likely that they would have a comparable sex drive and desire to mate with us? Or would things like different breathing requirements, acidic skin, or incompatible genitalia stop us? Not saying we'd breed, but that we would try to have fun fucking.

Is anyone here a member of a club like mensa? As part of a psychological assessment I had to have my intelligence assessed and was found to be well above the qualifying number which one has to have to gain entry to mensa, the psychologists recommended I such a club as a self-esteem booster, but I don't want to be part of one big circle-jerk, does anything interesting happen in these clubs?

Will there ever be a point at which we cannot progress technologically any more? A point where everything has already been invented?

Down Syndrome might be living historic proof of evolution. Down Syndrome results when there is an extra 21st chromosome made, giving the person 3 of those chromosomes. People with Down Syndrome look differently in not only their face, but their entire anatomy. Maybe by studying Down Syndrome it can shed light on how we evolved. The biology of someone with DS is so similar to our past ancestors that might unlock SOME sort of knowledge. I have recklessly assembled some pictures without any description in hopes of throwing out this fascinating idea out to the public as quickly as possible. I hope it's straightforward. (also the hand on the bottom right is a regular present day human hand for reference. And the black and white photo on the bottom left is thought to be our 2 million year old ancestor).

There Is No Shortage of Tech Workers

http://www.cnbc.com/id/100674327 The U.S. has "more than a sufficient supply of workers available to work in STEM occupations," a study released Wednesday by the Economic Policy Institute has found. In fact, we're producing far more STEM graduates than we can place in jobs. Some bullet points from the summary: "For every two students that U.S. colleges graduate with STEM degrees, only one is hired into a STEM job." "In computer and information science and in engineering, U.S. colleges graduate 50 percent more students than are hired into those fields each year; of the computer science graduates not entering the IT workforce, 32 percent say it is because IT jobs are unavailable, and 53 percent say they found better job opportunities outside of IT occupations. These responses suggest that the supply of graduates is substantially larger than the demand for them in industry." "Over the past decade IT employment has gradually increased, but it only recovered to its 2000–2001 peak level by the end of the decade." "Wages have remained flat, with real wages hovering around their late 1990s levels." The important policy implication is that the massive push for increasing visas for high tech workers is misconceived. We do not have a worker shortage at all. >b-but, muh mustard race degree >muh 200k starting >muh any job I want next time you kids want to talk shit about non-stem majors, remember that your degrees are as worthless as ours, you just paid a little more to get them

So after a few years of stuggling with crippling depression and anxiety, I finally gave in to trying SSRIs, despite the horror stories. My depression isn't situational, I exhibit some nasty physically manifested symptoms (worst of all I've woke up too early, with obsessive/intrusive thoughts, every night for the past year...even a high dose of a hypnotic benzo didn't help and I don't want to tango with benzo tolerance/dependence) so I figured no matter how worse life on SSRIs could be, it couldn't be worse than the shit I've been going through. I took 25mgs of Zoloft (Sertraline) this morning. A modest dose, and I heard you don't feel it for weeks. But already, I feel amazing. Is this even possible? No nausea or anxiety yet. I just feel spectacular and I'm led to believe this is more than placebo effect b/c I've already gotten the side-effect of it being very difficult to orgasm. I can still maintain an erection though. Only concern is how much it will blunt LSD/serotonergic drugs Anyone else have experiences with SSRIs?

So the Higgs thing is probably old news by now and I'm guessing most people here are familiar with it. Why ddin't they declare the particle discovered ath the LHC the Higgs right away? Was there an important physical property that has not been determined at the time?

Is there a well of eyelashes, dirt, dust, and small insect somewhere in my skull beneath my eyes where I've been rubbing them away to all these years?
