The British are always delusional about their players. Every single one is massively overrated by their media (you can see this in Football Manger, made by an Englishman, where every English player develops into a superstar and the English youth academy constantly producing world-class talent every year). Just look at every English youth player British people have massively overrated and touted as superstars over the last several years. Kane, Wilshire, Phil Jones, Smalling, Luke Shaw, Welbeck, Sturridge, Barkley, Sterling, Chamberlain, etc. etc. etc...all painfully average to below-average. Even their star player, a "generational" talent in Wayne Rooney has done literally nothing on an international stage and is just above average as a player.
The English delusion of their football team is real, and even if they didn't refball their way to a World Cup in '66, they would still claim they have one of the best national teams in the world, which is blasphemy. The USA, a country who fields 5th rate athletes constantly has done better than them in the last two WCs, and 3 out of the last 4, same with shit teams like Costa Rica and South Korea.
How English people feel about their NT is literally a mental disease.
