Pardon my autism, but when you guys say "The players actions should write the story" (or variants) what does that actually mean?
I mean, sure, I can see how you always want the players actions to have some significance, not just in the game aspect of using a good spell or combat action as opposed to a bad one; but also affecting the larger plot/setting/world.
But how far do you take those consequences? Say the players become convinced that the Vizier is really the evil mastermind plotting the king's downfall, all cliche stuff. And you're sitting there with your notes that say he's just a loyal servant of the crown. But the players won't have it, and exert themselves further and further trying to prove his non-existant treachery. If the players write the story, shouldn't I therefore make him a traitor? Even with no basis for it other than PC paranoia?
That seems a bit dumb, for lack of a better term.

CHAPTER: THREE and THREE QUARTERS: THE INTERLUDE
A couple of days ago...
You are Lisa, 11 years of age and currently hiding in an upturned sidecar.
Daddy was fleeing by motorbike with you and Jonny, your 13 year old brother, from the cloud of demons that were spreading across the land.
It had all been very rushed you remember, the day before was mostly normal, the only difference being Daddy's silent mood.
He'd just been sitting there, staring into space, occasionally muttering under his breath.
Mummy for her part had kept to the housework and kitchen, russling up a stew and some apple pies, occasionally bringing Daddy a drink without a word. Dinner had been delicious and you and Jonny went to bed as the sun was setting, snug and filled with pie.
The next morning had been a whirl, woken before it was fully light by Daddy shaking you, hurriedly explaining that you must get dressed in your warm clothes and pack a rucksack with a couple toys and books. You blearily obliged, picking up Marmaduke, your stuffed cat, and grabbing some books off the pile beside your dresser.
You'd stumbled downstairs to find Daddy lumping some supplies into another rucksack and Jonny tugging his shoes on. You followed suit and then turned to grab a drink from the kitchen, Daddy flicking out a hand and holding you back with a "No, darling." Moments later you were bundled into Daddy's sidecar, Jonny sitting in front of him on the bike as he revved the engine. "Where's Mummy?" you asked but recieved no reply before the bike set off tearing down the street and onto the highway.

Don't know what the fuck SS13 is? We'll teach you happily. Some of what we teach you will be to not trust anyone, but we'll get to that in the advanced course.
Do know what SS13 is? Dislike hate how other servers have gone? You'll (probably) like it here.

I legit enjoy the setting of Borderlands and I want to make a game from it.
I honestly enjoy the idea of a setting where mega corporations unabashedly run everything and compete with one another, guns are tantamount to necessary in life, any off-the-wall character idea is acceptable, and yet is still largely rooted in simple, easy to understand sci fi, with shields, med kits, and all the like doing pretty much exactly what you'd expect.
I've played a few different systems, and while 40k has a gun system built in, I honestly don't like that system. The most experience I have is with 3/3.5/PF, and was wondering if there would be a good way to integrate the basics into a Borderlands game?
I figure Sorcerer = Siren, Barbarian = Psycho, and so on.
Any ideas? Specific analogous classes, rules for guns or loot generation, or how to incorporate ability trees (if at all)? I'd love to embellish this more.

>This is a quest taking place in the Dragonball universe, starting at the beginning of the Saiyan Saga
>You are a human male, currently five years of age
>At the end of each update, you will have the opportunity to vote on what to do next. When one course of action has three votes, it wins.
>Write-ins are allowed, though I will disregard those I suspect to be shitposting
>Death is possible in this quest, but in this universe it is rarely permanent. So, try to be careful, but have fun
>I will offer certain action/dialogue options at the end of each update. You can vote on these, or write-in

Heaving a defeated sigh, you sit back onto a rotten log you've pulled beside your fire, staring blankly into its demure flames. Your god was dead, your order purged, and your powers lost – the least the world owed you was some good firewood; just a handful of days ago you were the greatest champion of your faith, not some ragged traveler who lacked even the most basic of necessities. Hjer, one of the more major deities of a nearby pantheon, had grown tired of sharing his domain with your admittedly minor patron and assaulted your holdings both in reality as well as in the higher planes. Before their army even arrived at the gates of your mountainside fortress, your god had been murdered and with him the conduit from which you pulled most of your divine powers.
The Order had never been numerous, and many had been caught in the valley town below in their advance, so you and your comrades braced yourself for a glorious death and awaited their onslaught. Eventually it came, and while the enemy faced horrendous casualties in their assault, it was only a matter of time until they came to you. You held the inner sanctum for what seemed like hours, killing at least twenty men as they streamed in from the other halls of the fortress – having slaughtered the other defenders. Death never came as you had expected however, as after gutting the last man silence descended onto the halls of blood soaked stone. Venturing out from your post, you found that you were the only survivor on either side of the battle.

PREMISE and RECAP: You are Kyousuke Kamijou. Upon first hearing, this name would make you sound like an ordinary person. Such an assumption however is patently false; you have the ability to modify your inner tempo and are an Executor Initiate of a division of the Roman Catholic Church, part of the Eight Sacrament. How did it get to there? Simple; around a week or so ago, Kaname Madoka, a classmate you never were close to, wished for a boyfriend with a creature (that sounds suspiciously like the Devil) called Kyubey. Said wish was granted in the most twisted way possible; it brainwashed your mind such that at nighttime, you would become a Tuxedo Mask-esque persona called the String Screamer. You were usually unconscious when you become this persona, however, some of it managed to leak into your dreams. In your search for answers, you tried stalking Akemi Homura and using one of your newfound powers, landed yourself into hospital. There, you had a divine epiphany, where you wanted to become a priest. Conveniently enough, there was a certain chaplain at the hospital; Kotomine Kirei. You asked him about becoming a priest and he told you how hard it was; however he offered for you to become an Executor instead, someone who deals with supernatural heresies and abominations such as lichs. Thus, you were prescribed to kill Saotome Kazuko, whom you did kill, but not before screwing her and having a date with her. Akemi Homura has promised to become your mentor with firearms, somewhat impressed by your ability to fight the supernatural.
That's less than half of the problems; now Sayaka has inexplicably forgiven you and is now legitmately asking for you to date her.
All-in-all, it's a gigantic clusterfuck. Welcome to Mitakihara Middle School Days.
