Char sheets: Layla http://pastebin.com/AZhZH83v Maria http://pastebin.com/Pz8RjLpu
Noise, why are there noises? I don't like being woken up without a good reason. I groan and sit up from my bed, and get a bit worried for a moment when I don't see Maria next to me, until I see her sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at the television for some reason. I scoot over to her and wrap my hands around her neck, and bury my face in her hair, taking a deep breath to enjoy her scent as she sits there, not trying to push me away or do...things to me, which is a bit odd.
I let go of her and sigh, slightly disappointed, she can't still be upset with me for last week could she? Oh I really hope she isn't, I don't think I could go on living if she's still upset with me, even though I'm not really alive per say.
"Uh Layla?" She says sounding worried for some reason "Do you want to I don't know, go out and do something, besides watching whats on the tv right now?"
"Hmm?" I ask, wait, she wants to go out and do something? Is this a dream or something, wait, what if she's sick or something...wait where's Elizabeth? Bah, she's probably just out with her twitchy friend, nothing to worry about there, nothing to worry about at all, and besides, Maria acting weird is far more important than something like that.
What do I do?
 look at the tv
 Nibble on Maria
Wait do you mean a date?!
 Elizabeth vision
 Cast a spell 1d20
freak out over maria's well being
...are you sure you don't want to stay inside?
 ask her something

You are Sol Promenthus, son of a being of godlike power, above the other people you have seen toiling for weeks in these dark and wretched mines. The hulking greenskins who identify themselves as "Orks" have forced thise similar to you to work till death, sometimes beating them and killing them for fun.
Its been a short time since you were awakened from your pod, around a month, and during that time you have been avidly examining this decrepit technology. How it works is something you have easily figured out, powered by intense belief and thought that gives it function and power that is logically impossible.
Over the long month of stealing technology, killing a Ork every now and then, and building up from what is basically scrap, you have created weapons that function well enough considering the resources at your disposal. But now you will need more variety, and need to enhance their functions...

>Hey DM, can my sorclock get a Kusarigama? I need something to do during downtime
What? Dude, what? This is the edgiest thing. Your edge is now like, five dimensional
>Yeah, so? It's not like it's causing problems.
Your edge factor is going to be over 9000 if you get this thing.
>It's not like I'm monologueing about the demon I was forced to sell my soul to
>Hell, the party doesn't even know I did that!
But you did sell your soul to a demon to protect your sister after it killed your parents
>Which is why it's my character arc to break that contract
>Besides, I'm the most level headed of the entire group
>I'm fucking Mama White Mage
You decapitate corpses and burn the heads ritually
>You're going to blame me for having the pragmatism to stay on Death's good side?
Why do you even want this? You have bazookas for fingers
>For the RP obviously. It won't always behoove me to be openly magical
>And again, gives me something to do other than brood quietly and scheme murder
You could just use daggers
>But that's not as cool
>DM keeps overreacting to having an edgy character that isn't played as edgy

You are Gretchen, daughter of Johann the Smith, and you are fleeing for your life.
Behind you, your home burns at the hands of Charlemagne’s Frankish horde, in the name of a god who died upon a cross and rose from the dead for mankind’s salvation. You know little of Charlemagne and even less of the god he worships, but you do know the cruel nature of men gone to war, and the vile lusts that take their hearts when the scent of blood is upon them. A fair-haired maiden of twelve years, at best you would be taken as a war bride by some faceless Frankish warrior, at worst they would take turns until they were satisfied and you were broken and bloodied with a bastard quickening within you. At your father’s behest, you fled to the forest, where your brother and the other village hunters have fallen back, to ambush the Franks when the move on to the next village. Still, you can feel the heat of their hounds’ breath upon the back of your neck as you run, barefoot, through the foliage.
More than fear, though, your heart is consumed with hatred.
Certainly not for your father, for sending you away from your home even though you both knew he would die this day. But not for the soldiers, though they burn your town and slaughter your kinfolk upon the orders of their king. Nor for Charlemagne, for soaking the land in blood for the name of his precious Christendom. Not even for their god Christ for being so cruel a god as to demand all the world be converted to his worship at the sword. No, your hatred is directed at yourself.
You hate being a weak little girl, helpless to save her village from the conquering hordes.
You hate being so scared of what the Frankish soldiers might do to you, to your family, once the fighting dies down.

/tg/, what card games out there are based around one character fighting another character?
I don't mean stuff like mtg where the player is technically a planeswalker battling another planeswalker, but where the player is actually represented by a card, sort of like that zatch bell game, where the first card was the player, and the rest of the deck was just spells/whatnot the character could use, or mage wars, where the character is represented by a card and can directly join the field and hack stuff up.
Sorry if the distinction is a little unclear/nitpicky, I just really want to know what games are like that beyond the two I know.

You HAVE written about and think about the lives of the various small folk, peasants, serfs, free-men, small time crafters and farmers and servants in your setting, right Anon?
Why don't you tell me about them?
Also; worldbuilding thread. Reply to other people before posting your own, yadda yadda.
