About four years ago, my mother's car got attacked by some kind of superpowered freak. It put my mother in a coma for a good while, and she's been hospitalized ever since.
Now you'd THINK that the cops would be interested in pursuing someone who would and CAN punch cars into oblivion, but pretty everyone I told about what happened laughed in my face.
The only person who actually DID believe me is a girl I met in the park the night after the accident... and thanks to her, now I have my own powers.
I spent most of yesterday trying to find some clue as to the whereabouts of those two kids who seem to have that book that Lorelei told me about, but I got nowhere.
Hopefully, I'll have better luck today...

Social Progessivism and Gaming

There are a few popular trends in RPG publishing that are really starting to bug me. It's nothing major, but it's still quite worrying. Increasingly, game publishers are unwilling to take risks with their content, especially when it comes to whatever the social issue of the moment is.
Lately that issue has been homosexuality and homosexual unions.
Allow me to make something perfectly clear. Acknowledging that homophobia exists is not the same thing as saying you agree with it. Yet game publishers seem terrified of the possibility that they may be accused of being homphobes if they publish any campaign setting where Homophobia even exists as an abstract concept.
Let me be crystal clear; actual, real homphobia is terrible and the persecution gays have had to endure since Abrahamic faiths first started to spread across the world like a bad rash is completely terrible. It still happened and it's a part of our history that has to be confronted.
Thus we have gay couples crowbarred into settings and situations where they make little sense.
I'm all for making gaming more inclusive, but not at the expense of narrative coherence. When a particular faction or country is made out to be collection of intolerant dickheads who are totally not a stand in for fundamentalist Christianity, suddenly having them come out as being totally okay with same-sex unions really does harm the narrative coherence of the setting, don't you think?
Yet we have THE IMPERIUM OF FUCKING MAN, the most intolerant bunch of a-holes in their universe, suddenly turning out to be okay with same-sex couples. Even Interface Zero, a setting whose authors brag openly about not caring if their politics offend you, tip-toes around the issue using persecution of the Genetically Modified and AIs as a stand in.

This is the Warhammer 40k List Thread. People need help yo.
Rules and tactica discussion is encouraged.
Fluff and rumors are better suited to the General, so kindly check the catalog.
The 30K community is still small, but growing, so don't get discouraged if your AoD list doesn't get feedback.
>Rules of Thumb
1) If you post a list, please critique other lists, if you are familiar with other codices.
2) Type your lists cleanly. Lists with poor formatting are usually ignored. Picture versions or PDFs of lists *are* acceptable, but not encouraged, and will often be ignored as well.
3) Preferably, advice should be given from a place of experience, i.e.; don't give advice you haven't tried yourself.
4) Don't bump excessively either, as that will diminish the likelihood anons will respond.
5) Finally, it helps if you have a short description of how you intend to run your list. This also helps anons give better criticism, and will typically illicit swifter responses.

Second Verse, Part 12
It is the Year of Our Lord, 1135
You are Wilhelm, Lord of Ramla.
And you have been busy preparing for your invasion of Ascalon.
You have drawn into your service an engineer from the Eastern Roman Empire by name Achilles, a brilliant man of advancing middle age. He has set up a workshop on your grounds, commandeered the local blacksmith and his apprentices, and generally just made his presence known.
While you were now training a new squire, son of the town reeve and general lunk head. Called 'Alexius' by you, called 'Shit for Brains' by your man-at-arms Tancred. He was, to put it very kindly, a work-in-progress. Having Alexius has spared your brother from becoming overburdened with duties, giving the lad more time to train - though as often you spied him carousing with his friends Jacques and Maggie.
Your marshal Solomon had spent a week busy with his new young wife. Old Ibrahim had declared her with child soon on their return. Solomon was still oft distracted by her, and his usual hard discipline in training the soldiers of your levy had dropped.
In a month you were expecting the arrival of your father and the arch-bishop of Trier. Important guests. Rosalie worked hard to keep the estate running smoothly, but with her chief assistant pregnant and consumed by marital bliss her usual steady hand was slipping.
