Does anyone have experiences with the new FFG X-Wing miniatures game?
After viewing some video reviews, I was thinking about getting the starter box, as it looks like a cool "out of the box"-game that seems to portray Star Wars space dog fights pretty well.
Even though the minis are pre-painted they look really good and the game seems like a perfect way to get people into tabletop games without them being forced to spend lots of time painting minis (yes, these people exist!).
Anyway, if you´ve got experiences with the game, post them. I´m interested in the long-term value of the game and how much of a money-sink it can be.

You are Sonia Reynard, Attack Wing Leader and Knight of the House of Jerik-Dremine! ! You command the Third Attack Wing, a mixed unit of fast hard hitting Cruisers, Frigates and Corvettes.
Last time you planned out and executed an attack on an enemy shipyard in an attempt to capture a Medium cruiser that had fled from you in a previous battle. Using a pair of captured cruisers two of your pilots were able to assault the lunar defense bases that helped protect the shipyard, turning their heavy weapons upon the enemy fleet.
After splitting your forces to defend the base, you went after the medium cruiser yard and captured the ship you came for, though not without disabling its engines first. A mad dash to defend the southern lunar base followed. Enemy ships disabled the shields and began landing troops to retake it but you think your two squadrons arrived in time to prevent it.
While the Allied task force being assembled to attack this planet and its shipyard was not fulled formed yet, your capture of the guns have provided enough firepower to make up for the lack of ships.

No news is good news, am I right? probably not, but it's the theory I've been running with lately and it's worked so far. haha!

Your ground crew, temporary as they are, wasted no time in helping you get strapped in while the chief and ordinance chief pulled streamers from weapons and displayed them for Merlin's count. Outside, the roar of engines continues unabated as the entire compliment of the base lurches skywards, forming up and heading north to join the wing from the kitty hawk in the attack. Inside the hangar, the high-pitched whine of striker turbines is overwhelmed by the far more powerful roar of your own jet's engines spinning up, the sound unmuffled by your still-open canopy.
You hit the canopy close toggle as Ice and Slider start rolling, taxiing to their spot just outside the hangar. “What's our load?” You ask over the intercom as you do so, clipping your helmet's umbilical lines into their port on the seat.
Instead of answering directly- she's juggling a half dozen things- Merlin just has one of your forward MFDs pop up with a display screen of your weapons stations. Your nacelle bays are loaded with a quartet of new-model agiles each, while your wings are slung with twelve AMRAAMS on twin rails and a further six agiles on triple rails. Your centerline bay holds a pair of...
You frown. “Merlin, what the hell are AIR-84s?” You ask, working your jaw around to pop your ears as the canopy seals.

I have a server up (and up it will stay, 24/7). It's hosted in Texas but, as I'm told, Europeans have experienced no lag whatsoever.
So, join the fun! There are no rules aside from no hacking. It's complete anarchy, I ensure that the players run the show here. I have sworn to nonintervention except in the most dire of circumstances.

>FIRE OF EYGRIMA ORC INTERLUDE
As the group stared at the massacre in front of them, the goblin's bodies scattered across the desert sands, their blood decorating the rotting carcasses of their hunted prey, they saw something coming towards them. Not only they were prepared for war, they were expecting bloodshed. Kyz stared at the group approaching them axe in hand, his eyes narrow and crimson red, his face angry like curdled milk. "Brace yourselves," told the warchief "and don't let them touch your kinsmen.". Kyz did not even need to tell that - his warrior were ready to kill in their clan's name.

After a great amount of rewrites and starting back from scratch because I'm never happy with anything I do EVER, I'd like to present /tg/ (and /m/) with the first alpha of a game I've been working on, Super Robot Wars OG Tabletop.
Just as the name says, it's meant to be a RPG set in the Super Robot Wars OG universe, with the characters as robot pilots. For now, all that's done is the core mechanics, character creation, and little more.
The game hasn't been playtested extensively, and is probably broken as hell. It doesn't have a contents index, and I'm aware that it's likely badly organized.
But I wanted to share this, hoping for some feedback. If you can spare the time to flip through this and contribute with criticism, ideas, suggestions or anything useful, I'd be thankful.
(I don't normally tripfag, but I'm taking up a tripcode for the purpose of this thread.)
