Bah-weep-Graaaaagnah wheep ni ni bong edition
>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks. /hwg/ doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to very specific games, so this thread isn't tied to a game, or a genre, lets talk about fun wargames.
Any scale, any genre, any company, any minis. Skirmishers welcome. Rules designers welcome.
>Examples of games that qualify
Mighty Armies, Dragon Rampant, Of Gods and Mortals, Frostgrave, Hordes of the Things, Songs of Blades and Heroes, and anything that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread (gorkamundheim).

Tieflings are cancer

Just like drow, tieflings are now a core race at 5e. However, unlike drow, they do not suffer from crippling sunlight sensitivity, making it a go-to edgelord race attracting the worst kinds of cancer players.
> My character is a tiefling assassin, who hates religious bigots who killed his mother, and hunts them down
> My character is a tiefling warlock, who made a deal with the Devil so he can get revenge on all those who wronged him!
> My character is a female tiefling rogue, who's a total slut.
Don't lie to me, /tg/, you've seen all of those character concepts repeatedly. But have you seen a single good tiefling? Go on, show me a tiefling paladin. I'll be waiting.
Oh wait, you can't, because players who are attracted to the tiefling race are in for being the closest thing to a demon 5e can offer, and Wizards gave those edgelords a go-to race.

Discussion of the Towergirls CYOA, RPG, Setting, or Video Games welcome here!
Q - What is Towergirls?
A /tg/ creation. Read more here.
Q - How do I play?
A - It's a CYOA, there are no established mechanics for the rescue. All the pages to the game are in the imgur album linked in resources.
Q - Why aren't/are we we working on; Fan Gen III/Knights/combat mechanics/etc.
A - We recognize that spreading out our efforts is part of what originally killed the project after Gats left. Accordingly, we're focusing on just one thing at a time and finishing them out.
Q - Hey, can we make a princess about X fetish?
A - It generally comes down to what people like. Propose the idea and see if others want it.
Q - Is there a map/unified setting?
A - Nope. Though proposals have been made, nothing concrete has been created.
Q - Can I post fanart/fanfiction here?
A - Go right on ahead. Just make sure it's within the global rules.

Let's Talk Tyranid Fluff

So I'll preface this with a disclaimer: I hold no ill will towards the bugs. My brother played them while still into 40k, so I was certainly acquainted with them.
Having said that, I find the Nids to be really dull. They have a wide range of colors, wild variety of forms and some truly outlandish weaponry. Yet for all this, this unknowable scourge from beyond the stars seem all to familiar, all too terrestrial: Eat, breed, thrive, change, decimate, dominate.
If you like Tyranids, I'd like to know- is there something I'm missing? Is wanting something more complicated drive from the Tyranids counter-intuitive to their faction appeal? Or do you wish to see some new developments as well?
Pic related: I feel like they work better from the oblivious perspective of some group like the genestealer cults than for us as an omniscient audience.

Song of Swords is a realistic fantasy tabletop RPG that draws inspiration from historical fechtbuchs, weapons and armor. Its combat system is fast and it can be used for both fantasy and historical/mundane settings. Inevitably, you will always have that one gay ass zell in the party everyone works together to kill.
Call of the Void is a pulpy sci-fi tabletop RPG about fighting space-nazis and hunting giant whales with harpoons made out of the moon. Its combat system is more modern, based in the early 20th century, but can probably handle combat up to the present day.
Here's a MEGA folder with the newest version of the rules as well as all related current working documents. At this time the latest version is v1.9.9:

There's also a roll20 room where new players are encouraged to try the rules, test new rules, and find game breaking issues: https://app.roll20.net/join/346755/hRKd4w
The room might be empty, but the people who teach the game still browse the thread frequently. If you're looking to learn, post here in the thread. We also play Guy Windsor's card game Audatia in the room.
