Personal experience has proven that it's true.
If you want Record of the Lodoss War, you get Slayers.
If you want Berserk, you get Bastard.
If you want Evangelion, you get Gurren Lagann.
If you want ERP, you get Rance.
If you want Law and Order, you get The Naked Gun.
Of course I'm not >greening that this is a bad thing.

I want to make a werewolf game about the Sandy Hook massacre.
The idea is simple. The players start off investigating the incident on the basis that one of their kinfolk is missing, and no one seems to know or care where they have gone.
They investigate the reports and find out that some of the eyewitness reports have been "fabricated", which turns out to be a red herring, merely a syndicated news reporter hiring an actor to drum up ratings. (The parents have forgotten about the child, as if she were never there and nobody seems to remember who she was or where she came from.)
Further investigation reveals a "man in uniform" dressed in camo fatigues and an officers PFC cap, observing during the shooting. As the characters interview witnesses, canvassing them for the potential kidnapping suspect, it becomes clear that he had some sort of prior relationship with the shooter, having adopted him mid-adolescence and entangling him in a "sadomasochistic homosexual dependance spiral".
Little do they know he was part of the "MK-Ultra" experiments that resulted in the CIA's perfect "sleeper assassins", people so heavily brainwashed through the use of electro shock torture that they are not even aware that they are being used to commit a violent crime even as they are committing it.
Further background checks show that "Colonel Jessup", a violent sociopath kicked out of the marines for being too violent was involved in the original MK-Ultra experiment or one of its later iterations and was combining the brainwashing techniques with his own unique brand of wyrm tainted sexual abuse on the shooter for years on end.
Can the characters discover the deranged wyrm minion while he hides in his "suvivor bunker" and trace his windowless white van before it leaves the county with their kins only daughter, or will he turn her into another deranged killer like the Sandy Hook murderer?

>two threads on the hilarity of D&D Next's skill system, from the impossibility of even the world's greatest climber to reliably climb an oiled rope, to level 1 paladins having a 54% chance of Asmodeus to back down by saying virtually anything, to generic peasants standing a 26% chance of conning Asmodeus, to Asmodeus being completely unable to break iron chains/a barred door or identify "unique monsters" (such as himself)
One week later...
>Mike Mearls announces on the official D&D website that skills will be removed from D&D Next and made into an optional module to be released after the core rules
They were here, weren't they? They were here on /tg/.

I've been putting serious thought into a Green Lantern RPG. I don't quite know or have the number-crunching ability to make it work on my own though. I tried looking into just using what already existed. DC Adventures is an addon for Mutants & Masterminds, and Champions has the ability to remake the Ring abilities.
Unfortunately, both of those systems only allow you to do so much and M&M specifically breaks all forms of balance once you reach past street-level.
(I have a PL6 Speedster that can run 30,000 mph, multi-attack, see 10x faster and have decent combat skills)
So, I'll come here. Maybe something can come of it.

Welcome ladies and gentleman to another edition of Succubus Quest!
Last we left off, we were in the middle of the final, epic battle with Langy to control Fort Hope. Apparently Langy had a UAM Poseidon up his sleeve, a giant anti-demon mech that the old world produced. After a long and epic battle with some severe blows dealt on each side, Brooklyn managed to rip the head off of the Poseidon. Langy ejected, and we last left off with Brooklyn meeting him at the park!
We now continue from that session!
