>"tfw nobody to play with" Edition
Uploaded a bunch of unofficial supplements that people seem to like/think are good or helpful; haven't tried any of them out myself
Managed to find somebody's scan of "Shadows of a Black Sun", a free RPG adventure module/tutorial given out at Free RPG Day 2013, and uploaded it. It handles similar to the Beginner's Game in terms of tips for the GM on how to be a GM for the game and explanations on how to use the dice through various actions. If you wanted to use the pre-made characters that were designed for it, you'll find that all 6 are in the Pre-Made Characters folder in the Core Game section
Dice Faces Prinout from the Beta book
Created a separate pdf of Trouble Brewing, an adventure from the Core Book scans
On another note, I'm out of town at the moment, so I can't do it yet, but I'm going to try and scan/upload some stuff to the folders. Look forward to things ranging from the Beginner's Game to the GM's kit.
And I know that most of you know about the Explorer-focused sourcebook, Enter the Unknown, but also announced a a bit ago is a 96-page, three-act Adventure Module coming out this quarter called Beyond the Rim.

It's Wednesday again and time for all writefriends to gather. Length nor skill don't matter, all that matters is that you write. Pick an image for inspiration, write a piece and post your own picture. Criticism and writing tips welcome, share your writing worries!
What we're going to do today is that when you post an image, attach a suggestion about theme or idea to it - nothing long or fancy, just what kind of story you'd like to see about it.

A day may come when there is no LARP thread on /tg/, but it is not this day!
My game's big event is coming next month, the culmination of a year's worth of national/local plot plot in one mighty battle for the freedom of the world against tyrannical totally-not-Romans. Time for me to armour up.
Other than a shield, sword, armour, magical assistance and lots of poison, what stuff would you say is absolutely essential for surviving a line battle as a frontline footman?
'Life on the Ground' and ODs

Hey there /tg/. BMJ here with a V3 OD question.
Thus far, the V3 alpha is going well. Pretty happy with what we are seeing, so now I am laying the groundwork for the post-alpha materials, stuff that needs to be done before the public beta can open up.
This includes, among its materials, the Operations Director.
The Operations Director has always been the trickiest part of AdEva, and arguably the aspect of the game with the most potential. In V3 it finally has the room it needs to grow, and the good news is that its primary mechanical niche of serving as the commanding officer during battles is shaping up nicely.
But combat is only half of the game. The OD character themselves often can’t just follow the pilots around at all times, nor should they. There are a lot of tricks that can be pulled here, from multiple characters to controlling plot important NPCs to serving as a kind of co-GM. By and large, what happens with an OD out of combat is a matter of preference at this point.
So what do you prefer, /tg/? How have OD players been handled out of combat in your games? What worked there, what failed, and where did you feel they needed more options or support? When the rest of the team gets out of their Evas to do a life on the ground session, what do you want the OD to do at the same time?
I look forward to hearing your stories, /tg/.

With the Totems you've installed in the Healer's hut, and under Elana's watchful eye, your road to recovery is a short one. The wound in your stomach was cleaned quickly enough that it did not have a chance to fester, and Elana says that, avoiding strenuous physical activity, you should be back up to speed in a few days. It is concerning to you, though. Every day that you spend in recovery is a day the Iron Tyrant grows stronger over the Ikrin Peaks. After communing with the Emperor to explain the situation, you spend your days in recovery buried in research.
The Healer concedes to allowing Terra and Aurora to visit you once you're out of danger, Terra delightedly informs you that the spirits of the flowers surrounding the town have agreed to bloom in new and vibrant colors for a monthly dose of light from Terra's Light Totem. You congratulate her on her good work.
Now, the time for lying in bed has passed. You've upgraded the defensive totems in the walls as best you can. You'd like to depart as soon as possible, of course, but there are some things you may need to attend to first.

Lost Knight Quest

Sometimes you just can't win. Your master taught you this, when you tried three times in one day to defeat him in spars. When the pain of your bruises faded and the stars in your swimming vision vanished, he sighed, helped you up, and brushed the dust from your training robes.
"Ondric." he said, in powerful tones, "Not every foe is bested with a sword."
But you were foolish.
So very, very foolish. An evil wizard laid claim to your Lord's lands, with wicked magic and foul treachery. You took up arms and rushed at him, and he simply raised his hand and... Sent you away. And now, you rest on hard stone, without consciousness, lost in memory.
Your eyes open...
What did you keep?
(1: Your armor
2: Your books
3: Your talisman
4: Your weapon
5: Your sundry other goods
In your suggestion, you may also specify more exactly what the items were - leather armor or plate, for example, or a sword or an axe.)

>Discount Magic Item thread, system-nonspecific
>Helm of Blind Faith
Gives the wearer extra priest powers while wearing it. Renders the wearer totally blind while wearing it.
Can't cope with direct sunlight - goes floppy, like rubber. Deals extra damage in the dark, though.
>Ring of Binding
When put on your finger, binds itself to your finger. Permanently.
Does nothing. Pings strongly to magical detection. It's a magical rod of nothing.
>Potion of Water Breathing
You now have a water-based breath attack. It does no damage, since it's just water.

>3.5, core only
>level 6 human wizard (me), elf cleric, elf druid
>get back from defeating a motherfucking COLOSSAL monstrous spider in the frozen wilds
>arrive at medium sized town by midnight, hear word that there's been a serial killer on the loose killing elf women while they trance/sleep
>our two elves are both girls
>fuck it, the chances of him catching wind of the two elves and targeting them is close to nil, we've got shit for remaining spells anyway
>sleep at inn
>DM takes out a coin, says "tails he goes for the elves," lands tails
>cleric and druid blow their Listen checks because lol massive penalties for sleeping
>DM tells them to make Fortitude saves for poison being dripped down their mouths as they trance
>elves roll kind of decently
>nope, DM says DC was 21, elves take 2d6 Constitution damage
>roll Forti again for secondary damage, still fail, another 2d6 Constitution damage
>elves both die, tragic end to an awesome session
Was the DM a dick for doing this?
