Anyone remember this game? The old one, not the remake that may or may not ever be completed. Anyway.
>Start up new game
>Things going alright, purged some xenos, stopped a Khornate cult.
>"One of your new recruits is Warp-sensitive!"
>wow, a Librarian this early?
>Start training him, he's doing pretty well
>"One of your new recruits is Warp-sensitive!"
>wait, what? Another?
>Go on a couple more missions
>This keeps happening, with a new lib every few missions
>Eventually get 10 total, form a squad
>squad willpower bonus lets them wreck shit with really reliable casting
>"A warp rift has opened near your homeworld!"
>Luckily only a few squads are off on missions
>start fightan daemons
>try to have the libsquad banish them
>EVERY ONE OF THEM GETS PERILS
>Homeworld torn from reality and thrown into warp
Anyway. Post your stories here, and may the Inquisition stay the fuck away from our suspicious dealings.

So, the first thread died, and well there was general interest so hey why the fuck not, let's continue from where we left off.
The first thread is here: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/26667329/
A general consensus of what's going on here.
Setting: A take on earth where Bullets infused with energy called Nova-Caps has brought about a 2nd gunslinger's rennisance to the point, people who use Nova-Caps in any way, shape or form are called "Slingers."
Setting Location: All over the planet earth but focus's on 2 specific Islands; Valhalla Island which is located in the ring of fire within the pacific, the other island is Tatarus Island located within the equatorial region of the Atlantic ocean possibly by the African continent??
Both Islands are considred to be massive Leyline Hot-spots and such optimum for Nova-Cap creation, various country's have divided up the island into several provinces, not unlike how Huffman Island from the front mission series of video games was divided.
What needs to be done?: A whole damn lot, Adjusting the currently discussed "Slinger" Archtypes, create more unique ones based more upon melee combat than ranged combat, Discussion into Nova-Caps themselves, Finding and or creating a system to play this game in as well as work on and refine Slinger Culture.
Fluff?: There has been some defined fluff, the most major being the Heart's-12 a group of 12 lady gunslingers and the odd character and or place and some tidbits about the islands. Also it seems the majority of fluff and some game play terms are affiliated with poker, blackjack and such related things.
What can I do to help?: Fluff, write ,discuss, suggest and most of all have fun.

Ok /tg/, here's the story.
My dad is a cool guy, we're really close and do a lot together. I have friends that I play warmahordes and video games with, but I always have time to go catch a movie or hang out with my dad. Anyway, I'm going to a new college soon that will be half a state away so I won't get to see him as much. He's already becoming depressed about it, as he doesn't have many other people outside of me and my mom. He's had problems with depression in the past and I don't want him to fall into it again when I leave.
One of the main problems is he doesn't see a lot of people anymore outside of his work. I think that when me and my sister were born he kind of dropped most of his hobbies and friends. So I'm trying to get him into some kind of social activity that he can go to every week or so, because he becomes severely depressed when he can't talk with people.
So I want to try to get him into tabletop roleplaying. He's a writer and professor so I think it will appeal to his love of storytelling. I've only played an RPG once but I had a lot of fun. What I'm asking /tg/, is what is a good RPG that a couple of people ,that have never really roleplayed, can pick up and play and still have a good time. I'm hoping that after we get to know the rules we can find a group so that when I leave he'll have some place to go and talk to people for awhile outside of work. This might sound weird but it is important to me, I want him to have some sort of outlet so he won't have to go on medication again.
TL;DNR What's a good RPG that beginners with no experience could pick up easily and have fun with?

WIP thread people! Post your mini's/terrain or whatever it is you're building, and let /tg/ tell you thin your paints. Any advice you have to ask or give, feel free to post it here.
My family came up this weekend and dumped on me 3 brother's worth of Warhammer Fantasy (and one or two LotR minis) so I've got plenty to work with alongside my Napoleonics. Orcs, Goblins, Lizardmen, Empire and High Elves. And one Britannian Knight which will probably just be redone as an Empire Knight instead.
What are you working on /tg/?

It's just another usual day, and you're sitting at your computer, complaining about your nerd stuff, WHEN SUDDENLY, the green orb thing from Heavy Metal appears in your room and gives you a choice:
You are getting transported into a system/setting of your choice, as a class of your choice, but you WILL choose, or you're getting to spend the rest of your miserable existence as an NPC in the worst setting you know of.
There's a catch, though. There's no character generation here. Oh no, you're going there with your stats, as the orb judges them to be, and your "b-but I'm the most intelligent person I know" crap won't fly with him, meaning most of you won't excel at anything, and will never have the power of your PCs.
You will, however, keep all your knowledge of the system, and the rules that functions by, and can potentially use that to your advantage.
You may choose your (base only) race and gender, though.
Now, what is your choice?
