Gonna head off the guy who normally starts these and get the ball rolling a little early.
Assume X-COM: EU timeline. The Ethereals wanted to use the Humans as the perfect soldier race to fight the Reapers, and instead got fucked sideways for their trouble. 150 years later, Humanity opens its first Mass Relay, resulting in the Second Contact War--with XCOM intervening in the fighting over Shanxi and handily defeating the Turians.
>Begin Research: Eezo (7 Days)
Also, XCOM may or may not have kept small populations of certain aliens (Thin Men, Mutons, Sectoids, Chryssalids). If they do have them, what they're doing with them is up in the air.
Let's get more of this hammered out, people.

Dave's not here, man
You find yourself in a strange world of vibrant color and exquisite sound. All around you are wild flowers and trees so vibrant they almost hurt to behold. The sky is a swirling mixture of blues and greens, turning around each other as if someone were stirring them with a great spoon. The air tastes powerfully sweet, and the ground is soft as you walk. You wander through a field of flowers and grass as butterflies dance around you, and only stop when you come to an odd house in the middle of your path. It is at least thirty stories high, but at the same time only twice as tall as you. The door seems a bit narrow, but you think you could squeeze in if you try, and you do try, because let's face it, you like a challenge. Inside the tiny tower you find a small study, with a roaring fire of green flame and books strewn about, and in a tiny chair is a tiny woman in tiny robes, looking into a tiny crystal ball.
A) Ask her where you are
B) Ask her where she is
C) Eat cake

>Thread Title : Exalted players of African descent?
>Hey, ladies and gents, the EX3 development team really wants to hear from you.
>Whether you are an old hand to Exalted or are a new player looking to get involved, we have many things to discuss.
>As developer, I am looking for ways to diversify my perspective and broaden the range and effectiveness of the product through audience analysis.
>If you would like to help me with this, please feel encouraged to drop me a private message with your e-mail address so we can talk.

I'm half wondering "What do you mean African descent? That's stupid! There's way too much cultures there for it to mean anything!" and half thinking considering my father was born in Casablanca I probably qualify for this.

What can I do when a player refuses to change a PC concept, as they claim there is nothing wrong about it? Or to be exact, how far should go the veto power of a GM when it comes to the PCs?
I started a new game this weekend and one of my players came up with a beautiful female paladin with a heavy German knight theme. She is named Mechthild of Kriemgard and even her starting equipment is that of an historical German knight, down to the sallet helmet.
So, overall I was pretty pleased by how she was made, because it appeared the player actually did some research instead of going for a WoW style paladin.
Then I see that for whatever reason she is described how she has skin of a "dark brown color, like chocolate, except in her palms and soles where her skin is much lighter" and having dark hair of an almost blue tonality. Adding some small details about her face (full lips and "charming yet slight" flat shape of her nose) I realize she is meant to be black. Like African black. I ask why and the player saids it felt more interesting and refuses to listen to my complains. In the end we part being upset at each other.
What do you think /tg/? IMO is absolutely stupid and I don't know if I should veto it. I mean, is the same as making a Zulu warrior with white skin and blue eyes, or a Japanese viking.
What should I do?

Good evening and welcome to the middle of the film... shit, wrong cards.
A year has passed. In that time, the peace of a generation has been shattered. War ravages the whole of Westeros, with only peices of Western Dorne, and the Wall region of the North escaping the conflict.
The Lord of the Arbor has taken it in his heart to slay the Lion, but the Lion's claws are sharp and long.
A fearful horde of Ironmen has laid waste to the Riverlands, even as their lady carried her Banners deep into the South via Essos. There she fights the Champion of Dorne.
Many are the tears of House Arryn, there mighty keep defiled by the hoary dragons of Targaryen. Though it is held by Stark mercenary bannermen, the damage will stand high fo all to see for years to come.
As the season finally starts to change, the small folk look up to the sky and curse the day a young lordling learns that dreadful word...
The Map stands as it is. I care not who you were or what you remember. We play as it lays.
Currently, regardless of past rolls or roles (or whether it is your "first" time) you must do these things:
last thread was training wheels, this time i get nazi
>state your allegiances
limit 2 allies per roller. you may keep your teams or venture out or play the turncloak. it matter little to me.
>try and keep it in your head that we are all here for the same reason... bad geneti...*hrak cough* to have a good time playing Risk.
Fall Rules Apply
No Iron Bank option

Didn't have a better picture and I couldn't find a DnD stories thread. This isn't some epic story that's gonna get a billion pinkies or whatever on leddit, but thought it was worth sharing.
>DM putting us in arena fights
>Cleric & Rogue(me) a little desperately out of their element
>Placed against a bunch of hunters
>Cleric and I starting to get frustrated
>Hunters turn out to be Lycans.
>Two in particular being a werebear and a wererat
>Rogue sneaks up to wererat (exceedingly difficult in an open arena)
>Start screaming and grapple wererat into a retracting and automatic spike trap
>Rat starts screaming ear-piercing rat scream.
>Being stabbed repeatedly, I take out a sword and start stabbing him.
>As the rat finally dies, I turn to see the Cleric, just as frustrated as I bum-rushing the FUCKING WEREBEAR
>Has remove curse prepared
>Jumps at the werebear, catching him flatfooted
>Punches the bear whilst casting remove curse (not sure how it works, has some feat I never looked up)
>By the way, is a dwarf
>Literally punches the bear out of him.
>DM spends the rest of the night trying to figure out if we pulled bullshit.
