You give some instructions to the men - well, now they're *your* men. Stella says she'll take the second watch, so you'll lead the first it seems. Five hours each, since the days are getting shorter.
You take Orvo and another man, and Stella picks two more. Well, this will be the rota then. As the fire dies down and people begin settling in to bed, go back into the hut where Stella is already seated, a mere presence in the darkness.
'I think today's gone pretty well, for a first day.'
'Shhh.' Stella hisses. 'Don't jinx it.'
Both of you laugh, then you take out your dagger and look at it. The blade looks to be of really fine steel; this really is a knife designed to puncture, stab and kill quickly. Stella interrupts your little reverie just as you stroke the ruby.
'So, those swords you got. 2 more, right? Maybe you should distribute them.'
'And we ought to strategise now. Should we focus on hunting and getting food for the winter, or how should we deal with that problem? Also, should we expand our band?'
> Let's expand quickly.
> Let's be cautious about expansion first.
> How do you expand? Kidnapping? Hiring? Winning people over like today?
> Getting loot and equipment is our first task.
> Building up food stores.

A VERY PYM CHRISTMAS Quest
A spin off of "Peter Parker Quest"
>You know Drunky and Ragey
>And Bow Guy and Redhead,
>Sparky and Freeze Pop
>And Tiny Girl and Spidey.
>But do you recallllll
>The Most easily forgotten Redacted of all?
>Hank Pym, the shrinking man
>Had a very shiny costume
>And if you ever saw it
>You’d say it’d pair well with DOOM‘s.
>All of the other scientists
>Used to laugh and call him lame
>They’d never suspect crazy Pym
>Has them under his peace ray’s aim
>Then one Foggy Christmas Eve
>Santa came to say
>“Hank Pym with your mind so bright
>Won’t you save Christmas Tonight?”
>Then all the citizens loved him (maybe?)
>And they all shouted out with glee(?),
>“Hank Pym the crazy scientist
>“You’ll go down in history!”
>Hey there all you happy people, eagerly awaiting Christmas. It’s me, your host, Wade Wilson. I’d like to remind you to call my number at the bottom of the screen if you ever need my services. I do anything- from painting your house to assassinating people (at my discretion)
>But, more importantly, much like massacring that Christmas Classic, is the story that I’m here to tell you tonight. It’s a story about a crazy man who will probably cause all of our horrible deaths. Well, all of YOUR horrible deaths, anyway.
>That’s right- Tonight’s about Hank Pym.
>But, you know, he wasn’t always the cheerful man you know today. No, about five years ago he was quite insecure and made lsits of revenge all the time. Let’s start by using the Ghost of Christmas Past’s powers, who I stole from the next set over, to see how he became the man he did.
>But, if you don’t want that we could just start into tonight’s story and say damn the back story, too. So, voter’s decide for Tonight’s Christmas Special’s plot!

So! no real news- bet you expected some here after a week off, didn't you! haha. There's this thread, then one more planned- this one will probably have a lot of fairly large timeskips, I know how you guys love those (hahahaha!)
Sorry about the late start, too.

And, again, sorry about the late start. I'd planned to do a regular run, so we might run long tonight.
It's snowing pretty heavily out there, you think, taking another sip of coffee.
The winter weather is actually bad enough that the plant and airfield have been closed- which doesn't bother you, really, since you're ahead of the game at work. Truth be told, you like the test pilot job you landed here at McDonnell- even though it's necessitated a move to St. Louis, it's good money, and you enjoy the work. Lately you've even been back in the P-67, the new C version. The wartime variant you flew was produced, briefly, as the B- the C is more heavily armed with 20mm cannon, and no .50 machine guns. A few minor aerodynamic changes were also installed- slightly longer wings, fuel tanks moved around- things that do make it handle differently, but not necessarily worse.
Ilyena's still sleeping, you think- you haven't heard her get up yet, and you're pretty sure you would have- the pregnancy has made her significantly louder. You still wonder at that- you, a father. You'd have never guessed it would happen, especially not now. The baby's due practically any day now- you've already got a pair of bags packed for the hospital set by the door.

Late once again.

Previously on Spider Cave Quest:
You tricked the group of investigating driders into walking right by you and passing the blame for murdering 6 other driders onto Teeka, the one in the spring who helped you before. After they walked by, you and your group sneaked through the cafeteria and into the north hallway.
There, you found the Forge and peeked inside. In there, you found what is undoubtedly the biggest, strongest drider you've ever seen. You also saw that the room is full of magical-looking weapons, and debated trying to steal some of them, but ultimately decided that it was far too dangerous.
Grelt, on the other hand, was stubborn in her wanting to try and fight the blacksmith, and nearly went berserk on the rest of you when you told her no. Thankfully you managed to calm her down, but had to promise she could fight the next driders that you saw in order to do it.
Upon moving to the Armory to try and gear up, you found a group of driders, one small female, one large female, and one even larger male drider with the same kind of shell-like armor that the blacksmith had. You wanted to try and formulate a careful plan, but Grelt rushed in blindly with no warning and started the fight without anyone's okay. The fight went well for Grelt, she killed the two females unharmed, but Carla and Edgar both nearly died when the rest of you tried to gang up on the armored male. After killing the drider, Edgar healed your wounded, and warned you that not only are these armored driders immensely powerful, but that Drein surrounds herself with four of them.
Then, you had a short talk with Grelt where you scolded her for her actions, she made clear her distaste for Carla, and you tried to educate her on the importance of coordination and teamwork. You aren't sure she fully understood, but you managed to clear up some of the hostility in your group.

You stand up and wipe your mouth of the peach juices. You ask if Ai has anything she'd like to do today, since she's your guest. She seems to think as she chews, then reaches for the paper. She writes, then hands it up to you. She asks if you wouldn't mind picking out some potatoes from the garden, and you nod happily. You then head off with the bird to begin training for the day.
"Alright human, it's time to finally learn the forms. Now these will take along time to master, especially for you, being as slow on the uptake as you are, so I will only try to force them on you one at a time."

Previously: A young rocket deals with an unconscious man related to her investigation, calling her team, they begin their operation in full force!
Probing the man's mind for missing memories they find several holes alluding to the fact that he must have gone through repeated instances of this treatment.
Letting him rest, the rockets investigate a warehouse, speaking to a friendly guard, though his demeanor changes quite clearly when the young rocket presses more meaningful questions, nearly pushing the man to violence.
A sample of hair is found from within.
While outside a raging rocket is apprehended by the civic guard, a nonchalant fragrance rocket standing by casually.
A gun bearing old blood and burnt flesh is handed to the young rocket, further advancing their investigation.

Because we are not so great. OC/ post yours
“When we first found them, they were in disarray. They were nothing special, really; just another species in the Tenah section, showing the first signs of space travel.
Dispersed in little states and endlessly bickering, they were but a perfect example of class 5 individualoids, much like the Boenas or the !Ko’veh. Thus, protocol dictated that contact should only be established after either total political unity had happened or in the face of extinction.
Our latest reports still indicated a long road for them. Over two hundred nations littered the surface with their tasteless banners, unfurling unproductive destruction.
And then they all blew each other to kingdom come. Our conclusion is that they were worthless. The end.”

So, according to /tg/, dragons in general are not really empire-builders. As was explained here, dragons at first like to amass their hoard (i do wonder how does this exactly happen. they protect a certain region and take taxes? loot caravans?), then magical powers. After that, they are exceptionally powerful individuals with larger or smaler army of kobold worshipers while snoozing on their hoard. I guess silver or gold dragons would quickly interfere in some evil shenanigans if they got wind of it. And perhaps would help the people if they asked them for help.
Got anything else to tell me on this, /tg/?
