Best brand for anime figures?

I've finally cracked and decided to buy anime girl figures. My only issue is I don't know what brand of figures are the best to collect. Should I get Figma, Revoltech, figuarts, or whatever? Or is this gonna be a more figure-by-figure basis?
I'd also like compatibility between figures, accessory wise. I think as long as it's the same brand, it's possible to swap parts, but I really know little about this stuff. If you guys could also point me to a good site for this, all I know is BBTS, and I'm not sure they're a good site for Asian toys.

Searching for a toy we had when I was little, mother has told me it was bought from a yard sale in the mid 80s, but that she'd never seen it in stores. It disappeared in a move long, long ago.
It was a brown plastic doll house modeled to look like it was made from trees. A bit smaller than a regular doll house, something I was able to carry around when I was little. It came with three tiny fairies that were only a little bigger than a thumbnail. They all had different color wings and their hands were pressed together. When you pinched the wings, the hands would open and you could clip them onto different parts of the dollhouse.

I am a usual /toy/ soldier that usually lurk here, and I have a good amount of figure (around 40-50 figures), my hobby doesn't hinder me from pay my basic expenses, like groceries, bills, etc
But the thinks is that I suspect that I will get fired from my work as They are cutting costs, in case that happens I will just search for a new job, but I was wondering if there is a way to make extra money from the internet, not a full pay job, of course, I' not that dumb to believe that, but maybe something like a few bucks per week?
thanks in advice
