Hey /toy. I've never posted on this board before. So, here's to an auspicious start.
I've recently (24 hours ago) become incredibly interested in the world of RC racing. I'm new to the town I'm in right now and found a place with year-round indoor racing and THE FRIENDLIEST people I've ever met. One guy is willing to sell me his Schumacher Cougar. (pic related, but not his.) I'd still need to buy some other stuff to go with it, but even with that the price he's asking is quite a bit lower than anything I've found online, and WAY lower than what his would be new.
Anyway, I was wondering if there was anything /toy could tell me about the hobby. Things to avoid, such as brands, specs, or whatever? Good things to start with?
General RC thread, too. Thanks, folks.
TL;DR - Tips for someone new to RC car/truck racing?

I always try to get the best deal, so I speculate on the TF market to buy at the lowest.
Anyone have any thoughts on situation for TFClub Hercules?
I had previously thought that he'd oversaturate, and be so expensive that no one would be willing to pay cost for a used one but I'm starting to second guess. First impressions are usually better though.
I see on eBay he's selling above what he costs currently on online stores. of course, eBay's filled with the ignorant masses, so that's not unthinkable.
Still, I'm starting to wonder if I'll be able to get a set for somewhere under $500 shipped WITH the "rage of" add-on. I can get that for $515 shipped right now.
but I've already got $940 worth of TFs I'm looking to buy including MakeToys Giant, and I just spent $600 on TFs (club sub & some KOs) right after I spent about 1K at TFCon a couple months ago, so I'm... not looking forward to adding another $500 to that.
Maybe I could drop the TFPrime BBTS exclusive deluxes, or some of the 3 exclusive purple bots that add up to $150 (Terrorcon BB/CJ & Alt Galvatron)

So, /toy/, I bought this Double Driver DX, the korean version. But I'm having problems with the Cyclone Memory. It's just doesn't work as well as the others. Every time I put it on the belt, it keeps repeating the same sound to put the other memory and don't work very well.
Anyone had this problem before? Also, there's any place where a I can buy the memory alone without the belt?
