Why do you collect what you do?

Everyone has a story: what's yours? Why do you collect?
Throughout my whole life, any repairing or adding on to the house was handled by a carpenter that lives down the road. He's a half Native American dude that's almost 50 and has tons of tattoos and long air. In other words, he looks like the kind of dude you'd want to keep your kids away from - but in reality, he's one of the nicest people I've ever known. All throughout my childhood, whenever he was working on something in the house, I'd watch him work, and we'd talk about movies and television, and all that. One day when he was done woking, he took me to his house because he had something to show me - a collection, rather. This guy is big into horror movies and he has a "man cave" that is loaded with horror movie figures, skeleton statues, and all sorts of things of this nature. I was so fascinated by them, and eve now I like to go by and check up on his collection.
This guy knew what he liked, and was proud of it. His collection is part of him. I mostly collect video game character figurines (as well as video games themselves) and I've recently began getting into Gunpla. Basically, I want to be that guy that one day someone will look at my collection and say "Wow, this guy knows what he likes and doesn't give a damn what you think about it. It's ok to just be myself."
tl;dr carpenter did lots of work on my house as a kid. He had a profound effect of my outlook and collected cool shit. I now collect cool shit in turn.

ITT we discuss those figs that seem to have fallen off the face of the planet.
Pic related, I've wanted one of these guys for the longest time, to go with my Tokyopop Godzilla. He's 'Fenfir', an 8-inch Ghidora bootleg. He's not exactly something you can directly search for on the ebays.
He walks, and has lights and sounds, too.

So I have an odd question.
See this? This is an exclusive Congo figure available through a Pepsi promotion.
My question is, is it just that, and exclusive figure, or is it a "Pepsi" gorilla? It certainly could pass for one, with it's red and blue coloring. But I want it if it's an intential Pepsi colored gorrila, not just a red and blue gorrila distributed though Pepsi.
TL;DR is this the "Pepsi Prime" of Congo figures?
