I'm in the desert in Southern California, north of Los Angeles.

Our Wal-Mart's and Targets all have the new (shit) fireteams now.

Targets (almost-)all have Charlies out (and I've looted them).

ToysRUs has fucking nothing. Nothing at all. Im curious how long they'll go without getting the New stuff. I'm not sure when they reset their shelves, maybe it'll all go out then.

No sign of the covvie customizes anywhere around here. Im hoping it'll show up whenever TRU f8nally updates their stock.

I haven´t bought any Mega Bloks before, I wanted to ask how easily can figure parts be swapped?
I planned on getting the Alpine Rangers and Jungle Troopers sets and swap some pants/feet/hands to make the soldiers as unichrome as possible.
I see that they come unassembled in sets but many of the parts have stoppers. Do the parts break as easily as Lego torsos and legs?

I also would like to know if there is a Bricklink-like site for catalogueing Mega Bloks parts or at least a color table, because it looks like they have four different greys and blacks in these two sets alone.

1: Very easily. The ribs just make them stick together better. The only parts I ever have trouble disassembling are the hands, which stick in like a motherfucker.
2: There is no BlokLink, sadly, and if there's a color table, I've never seen one. The nature of their camo bricks would seem to preclude it, I think.

Just playing with the sets I own, I've seen maybe 6 grays, some of them being the same shade with differing levels of gloss and matte. It's a great variety, but good luck making things match.

Lego torsos instantly get cracks when you don´t know how exactly to bend the arms when taking them out of the sockets. If there is something similar to that with the MB figures.

I've had some trouble with figures with "fused"/stuck hands and arms, which insuspect may be from too much heat 8n shipping or storage.

Mostly screwed up some of the older style arms trying to wiggle them loose, but we've had a few arms/hands on the new figs that just -would not- move.

Stokage levels climbing drastically. I think I'll put some of these canons I've gotten onto mine, when I get it. Think I might also replace the reins with some twine, make it look more olde timey.

Can't wait for that George Washington figure to happen, speaking of horsies. I'd love to see how they do saddles with these new molds.

Also, the set itself is reminding me of an idea I had for a really dumb MOC: Take the APC set, and have it be pulled by 9 of the motorcycle sets, and customize a santa-like figure to be in the driver's seat, with a couple "elves" in the turret.

They're essentially doing that already. Twice now they've released microfigs in their WW2 line who wear black shirts and helmets, implicitly Nazis, though none of them come with actual nazi weaponry.

Personally, I don't care about the tanks, I want the WW2 line to give us a goddamn B-17 and a goddamn Zero. The lack of either is pretty dire, even if they *would* be enormous sets that, due to the WW2 sets being TRU exclusive, would never sell.

One of the guys in the five pack set is a black shirt, and one guy in the D-Day set. Looking around, I find mention of a "sidecar pursuit" set, which sounds like a set based on that bit from The Last Crusade, so maybe that'll have some nazis in it. No reason to suspect it will, though, the truck set was called Halftrack Ambush, and there's nobody in the set to ambush the Halftrack, so...

I get that they don't want to put swastikas on action figures in a toy aisle, but honestly, if you're that afraid, why go there at all? It's not even trying to have your cake and eat it too, it's trying to fuck the cake, but promising yourself you'll pull out in time.

Fuckin' Blokout... Highly articulated BoS Paladins, customizable raiders, NCR Rangers, not to mention Ghouls and Super Mutants... man, that would be a killer toyline.

You fucked up.

I've purchased a couple of Star Diamond sets. The parts quality is the best of the Chinese brands. Lego has a certain tactile sensation that Star Diamond comes close to duplicating. I did receive one slightly malformed piece in a set, but that was nearly offset by the superior plastic used.

Ausini seems to be okay, although I say that based on my experience with one set. Enlighten parts quality varies from set to set. I've no experience with Kazi or Sluban (although that will change soon).

You probably will want to avoid Qiaoletong, though. I learned too late that Qiaoletong are NOT compatible either Lego or other brands.

Do report back on the garbage truck. I want to try more Star Diamond sets, but the price points aren't much lower than Lego, and Lego sets are usually more well designed.

Well, the garbage truck was 13$ (w/ free shipping) compared 20$ for a comparable actual Lego set besides, In my country Lego is much much much more expensive here so the savings are larger.

So from what you are saying, Star Diamond is the best of the chinese bunch?

Also, where can I find more kits of theirs, I mean AliExpress doesn't carry all of them? From their website they also have a Creator line which I am interested now as well but I can't find it any where other than chinesebricks?

Picked up pic related and the NMPD car with Brute Chieftain today, TRU in Canada is doing 25% off all Halo this week.

It's a pretty neat build, that billboard advertising a civilian Hog set (even a piece count heh) is a nice touch. Was surprised how many pieces there are to the Drone figs, their feet are kinda awkward to stand them up on non-studded surfaces but it's pretty accurate in keeping with them being primarily fliers.I did have a QC issue in that the halves of the JFO Spartan's chest piece were warped and don't line up, already send off a request to MB for a replacement so that shouldn't be a problem for long.

The squad car is a cool vehicle too, it'll make a nice bit of "scenery" for a Mombasa streets setup sometime. I do wish they'd at least made the Brute Chieftains taller, it's kinda sad seeing him standing alongside the NMPD officer with his slight height advantage. Tartarus from the Halo 2 anniversary set has this same problem, hopefully down the line we'll get new Brutes.

I have mention the monster high figures, but I'm not sure if that will be change on the "normal" lines

Lego have no problem because they use the same mold, but mega doesn't.

There is any mention of that from mega? Or i should ask in 5 years?

With female Spartans, marine and personal it's just a matter of time.

Call of Duty has female characters turing up in multiplayer and single player now.

Terminator has Sarah Connor so it would suck if Mega hasn't got one in the pipe at the launch of that line.

TMNT April O'Niel, wont know till next year.

Star Trek... need I say more.
