Is it worth it to take out a loan to study abroad?
I'm an American university student who is majoring in Spanish. I studied abroad this summer in Peru and although I had an amazing experience I don't feel like I learned enough of the language. So now I want to study for a full semester. The only problem is that I used most of my meager savings and scholarships to pay for it. So my only recourse is to take out a student loan if I want to go again.
Is it worth it? I've taken out loans for the past 3 semesters, so its not like I would be debt free otherwise. There is simply no equivalent to spending time in a place where they speak your target language. Has anyone had a similar experience with this sort of thing?
